I have stayed at this hotel twice in past years, the first time with my husband and 3 girls, then in 2006, with just the kids (all teenagers). We all really liked the hotel - the room we had was above the reception however, and this could be a bit disturbing with coach loads of other guests arriving and departing at stupid o clock in the morning.
I was quite impressed with the room and this was one reason I picked this hotel a second time. I was certainly not expecting kitchen facilities and a separate bedroom in a half board hotel - I guess they also did self-catering.
The entertainment was very enjoyable and the pool area fairly clean - although the whole towels on sunbeds thing is very annoying, but prevelant wherever you holiday now.
We hired a car to see the rest of the island, but also took the boat to Alcudia (which leaves from the beach just outside the hotel). It got a bit choppy and I didn't feel so great but it's a nice way to travel.
We found the food to be adequate, I've had worse!! My eldest is a very fussy eater, but she found chips everyday, and the pizza place onsite is very good too.
Obviously it is some time since I last visited the hotel but I dont expect much has changed, and all in all I would recommend it, although possibly not to couples looking for a quiet holiday - great place for families with children. Our last visit was end of season and most of the little shops just outside the hotel were closed, however, the hotel was not nearly full which was nice, peak season its very busy.

We have just returned from a week at the Pins and I would not rate this as 4 star it is a 3 at most. There were 6 of us, 5 adults and an 8 yr old.

Good points - The beach is lovely as is the pool and both are very clean. Yes the pool gets busy (it was half term wk) but if you have children I expect this won't bother you. They do inforce the no reserving of sunbeds rule I saw them removing tools each morning. My daughter loved the kids club and it seemed very well run.

Cons - Bedroom feels like a small cupboard. We were half board and whilst some days the food was average others it was not that good, cold and very repetative. The entertainment is way to loud and can be heard throughout the whole complex, don't expect to get any sleep before 11.30, not great if you want to put the little one to bed.

Whilst this hotel is out of the way this would not normally bother me but we had a few days of bad weather so we couldn't use the beach/pool and it was a bit of a pain.

Overall was disappointed with this holiday especially as I have stayed in some fantastic Thomson Plantinum hotels for a similar price.

Just returned from a week in this hotel - 25th May 08

First the weather was a bit rubbish with 3 days of rain- which is enough to put any one off, however we really loved this hotel.
Before we travelled, i read some of the review on here and almost cancelled my hols as some of them where horrific, but we obv had to go, and I must admit we had a lovely time.
There was 2 adults and 1 child (2)
Beach is gorgeous, water warm (ish!!), pool area lovely, a little busy and manic with kids, so may not suit anyone without children. Water clean and great shallow pool and slide for the kids.

Italian rest lovely, burger bar ok, we got the bus into alcuida port which is lovely as is puerta pollensa, but be warned- if the weather is poor the buses will be packed and you may have to wait for a long time of get a taxi.

Lovely restaurant topo gigios about 4 bus stops along from the pins- nice play area for kids, crayons and nice menu.

Only gripe is that is was expensise, but the euro x change rate is also poor, so we spent more than average.

Other adivce, because our daughter was 2, we where not allowed to book cot bed thru travel agent, but we ordered one when we arrived and it arrived promptly with bedding.

Entertainment cheesy but good fun, and the staff work extremly hard, and get kids involved,

Hotel Staff helpful and polite, everywhere clean apart from shower changing rooms which you may use if you have a late flight. (full of flies!)

Room was also bit noisy, but after a few wines I can sleep thru anything!

Brill for children- prob not for couples or those wishing for a relaxed holiday!

myself and my bf were looking for a 'gap' holiday and the travel agent recommended Alcudia Pins, we asked for somewhere for young couples and not families.The hotel was a fair distance from the airport ,but right on the beach the staff were very helpful when we arrived - we had the room we requested (the pool side), the apartment was ok - just needed a modern look - the maid never came every day - this annoyed us as we couldnt use the shower curtain and ended up putting our towels on the soaking wet floor- it was frustrating.....the resturants onsite were ok - but i wouldnt say fantastic- considering we were told it was a 4 star hotel - the Hotel was a distance away from everything- we ended up hiring a car to tour the rest of the island- we found it was much cheaper o/side our resort - we found that we were halving our food/drink bill by driving into town ....overall the holiday was good , however i would not recommend the hotel to young couples ....
