“Loved the Place”

Just back stayed there last two weeks in Sept 07. Stayed with my partner and 14yo. Great place with plenty to do for the kids with clubs etc for them shows on every evening. Good links into the town on bus and taxis close by. Mainly german and europeans saw only 2 other Brit familys there Staff very helpful and friendly and the Buffet in the evening was really good plenty of choice and well cooked. Out side a choice of bars and places to eat but not to many to make it like a blackpool.Plenty of sunbeds for all those worried by the Germans. I will use again and would recommend for families or a mature couple who are not bothered by kids. But the kids are far better behaved than British ones.

“Wish we could have stayed longer!”

My husband and I plus 2 children (aged 1 and 5) stayed here the last week of August/September. Unfortunately upon arrival at Palma aiport our pushchair was lost, so not a good start. However, Thomas Cook rep and airport staff assisted and reassured us it would be located and sent to our hotel. Once at the hotel our rep must have warned the reception staff. We were given in my opinion one of the best located rooms "3115". A lovely quiet room with fantastic views capturing the rising and setting sun. Pushchair turned up 2 hours later!! They can be hired from reception too.

Hotel room was extremely spacious for all of us and came equipped with all we needed except the kettle and toaster. However, we had an extremely clean coffee pot which was adequate enough for the morning tea! The full bathroom was great with us and we particularly liked the large size which was useful with two children after a day at the beach!

We chose to go self-catering and this worked out well for us for breakfast and lunch. The chambermaids always cleaned our room early so kids were able to have siesta with no disturbances.

The swimming pool was lovely and plenty of sun beds (alright, so you have to be there early but that's not a problem with 2 children who wake early in my family!)

The beach was again lovely, and as this hotel is situated at the quieter end of the beach away from the "Alcudia pins" there was lots of parasols and sun beds to be hired. Whilst we stayed there - I spotted no jelly fish at all. Lovely shallow waters and when windy the waves fun for kids.

In the evenings we headed to either the buffet restaurant which in our opinions was well worth the money as our kids ate free thanks to the very friendly Maitre'D. Or we went across the road to the local restaurants.

We found this hotel to be excellent and loved the setting, friendly staff, clean surroundings and lots more. Wish we could have stayed longer!!

One tip- take insect repellent with you.

“Stand by your beds”

Hotel Apartamentos Eden Playa

19 Sep 2007

My partner and I together with son aged 13 stayed at the Eden Playa for 2 weeks in August. I have to say I have never come across a hotel where most of its occupants are in bed by 12pm, maybe thats why the Germans go to bed early so they can reserve the sunbeds at the crack of dawn. Entertainment was OK .We were told off for laughing and high spirits on the second night of our stay. Come on it was midnight and we're on holiday-get a life! The hotel entertainers tried their best and I give them credit for that. There were a couple of "professional" acts, but they were rather disappointing, hence most of the time we visited nearby Can Picafort and Alcudia centre where the entertainment is much better. Hotel food was horrendous, worst hotel food I have ever tasted, thats why we only ate twice there. You have to hire a kettle and toaster which I think is unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. There were very few English people there - 95% German - nothing against them, but I do like to socialise with people when on holiday. The hotel is very clean & room was very spacious & its grounds are lovely. We would relax sometimes on the sunbeds in a garden area behind our apartment, it was so peaceful, with the pool only a few strides away. The pool was very clean, only downside is there are no lifeguards on duty. I recommend this hotel for location, tranquility and cleanliness, but unfortunately will not visit this hotel again. The hotel is very children friendly and have good entertainment for the young ones. The hotel staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. I injured my ankle and the receiptionist went out of her way to help me.

“Perfect for children”

We are just back from a week at the Eden Playa and we had a really brillant time. We have 2 small children, one and three years old and we found the hotel to be perfect for us. The pool has different levels so was ideal and our apartment was about a 2 minute walk to the beach. The beach is beautiful, beautiful water and great waves so we had great fun. Now if you walk further down it gets really packed with people but the sand at eden playa is narrower and so doesnt seem as bad.
The main thing with eden playa, it is so clean, my 3 yr old boy even commented on it one morning, he said look at all the little ladies, there were about 20 ladies cleaning around the pool every morning. The rooms are cleaned every day. The food in the hotel is great, for brekkie we went accross the road to the shop and bought fresh croissants and orange juice and that was fine for us but you could get a great breakfast in the hotel for €7, and dinner was €15 and you would be stuffed! We ate at the grill restaurant on site as the view was just lovely, u were looking out over the dunnes and onto the beach. They do a great steak!
The disco for the kids every night was great and then there would be a show for the adults but the kids would all stay around too and it was lovely, just sitting outside and the breeze from the sea made the heat bearable, i dont think we complained of the heat once. My only flaw with the hotel is the air con, at night i found it very hot but the rest of my family slept no problem, i didnt think the room got cool at all, so if i could have fixed that everything would have been perfect. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel for families with children as the clubs were brillant, so near to the beach, great pools, and food. I have travvelled the world from australia so the carribean etc and have seen loads of lovely places but for been so near to home and been with the kids in mind it was perfect for us. Hope ye enjoy it as we did.

“Great hotel, location not so great”

Hotel Apartamentos Eden Playa

My boyfriend and I satyed at the Eden Playa for four days.
It is a good hotel with good value for money but we hired a car and I was glad of this since we didn't spend much time in Muro - it is spoilt by all the hotels (including this one) looking straight onto the beach.

Positives:

Good value for money
Small shops nearby for making your lunch
Close to the albufeira nature reserve
Lovely pool and sauna
Good selection for breakfast and lunch - but don't expect amazing
Excellent room size and well stocked small kitchen
Good sized bathroom.
Cleaning excellent
Good complex layout - lots of rooms but all split into reasonable blocks so not noisy.
Was fairly quiet when we went in April but not peak season.
Resort is popular with europeans so whilst the breakfast is quite busy, people are very quiet and europeans not as raucaus as many english.
Good for children

Negatives
Shame that the beach is completely lined with hotels
Not many nice places to eat out in Muro
Hotel is quite children orientated but not as bad as many (might be worse in summer)
Muro is fairly typical of much of Majorca really - so if you are looking for more traditional majorca then don't stay here. However, if you want a good base for driving around north majorca, this has to be it.
Few 'nice' pubs in Muro, and lighting along the street back to the hotel in the evening is poor - we tried walking along the beach one night which was not great.
