“Excellent Hotel - Ask For Sea View!”

Beverly Park Hotel

20 May 2008

We have just returned from a week at the Beverley Park hotel. Upon arrival we were quite impressed as we usually stay in self catering apartments so everything appeared quite grand!!! The reception area was very nice and the porter took our cases up to our room on the fourth floor. Unfortunately our room was double booked but it was sorted out straight away and we were given the room next door to it.
The apartment itself was very clean and tidy. we were quite lucky in that we got a view of the sea and the sun was on our balcony all evening. The maids were very polite and always said hello. They visited every day to make beds, change towels, etc.
There was quite a variey of food. Breakfast consisted of continental and english (fried eggs, bacon, bread, cereals, beans every day - occasionally a boiled egg or frankfurter chucked in!!)Salad was always readily available. There was a variety of meats and occasionally fish. Always ice cream and fruit to choose from for dessert.
The hotel itself is quite a walk from playa de ingles but you can get a taxi for 3-4 euros. to get to the beach you have to climb quite a lot of steps and then further along you have to go down some more to get to the beach!
we went during Gran Canaria Pride so there was always plenty going on at the yumbo centre. Definitely worth a visit.
All in all an excellent holiday. Would definitely recommend the Beverly Park although it would probably be a bit crowded in the dining areas in peak season and some of the rooms we saw were in bad locations. 10/10 would go back.

Where do I start. On arrival we were offered the smallest rooms we had ever seen and considering we were 4 girl friends on holiday they were quite inappropriate. Fortunately they offered us a substitute which was more suitable but we had to share one bathroom between all of us. The food was often cool to cold and not always pleasant to eat, quite often tasteless and unedible and I am not a fussy eater. You could end up queuing to get into the restaurant and then queue again when in there to get a drink.
The staff were very often grumpy and rude especially when they knew you were all inclusive. Some of the other guests too were rude and arrogant. I quite often felt like a naughty school child just asking for a drink. The alcoholic drinks range was limited and quite often lacking in alcohol. Unfortunately our Thomas Cook rep was not to helpful either. We spoke to many other UK guests while there and many of them too were unhappy with the food and also treatment from staff.
Talking to other guests we discovered that the prices people had paid for their holidays varied a great deal from £195 per person all inclusive to nearly £400 per person half board per week.
I was glad that I had not taken my children as the entertainment and facilities were so limited. Sadly the beach nearby was also fenced off and totally unusable as it is being worked on.
I must add that Playa de Ingles does have some great night life if you go to places like the Kasbah or the Yumbo centre and we found the locals around those entertainments areas friendly and helpful.
I have attached a photo of the fenced off beach but please ignore the date on it as I forgot to change it on my camera, oops

“not for any british people!”

Beverly Park Hotel

30 Apr 2008

My partner and I both stayed at this hotel last year. Both aged 20 we went all inclusive. We werent expecting a lively and noisy hotel which was fine for us and the way the agent sold it to us it sounded amazing. Strongly driven towards German French and Spanish people. We were treated differently as soon as we opened our mouths and talked english. They have no time for all inclusive at all. Often we were served last and slower than others. I was very upset about the hostile reception we recieved from guests and staff as we were polite at all times and very thankfull. The food was basic and often we saw the same food being served a day later that had obviously been reheated. The nightly entertainmenmt was all in spanish and nothingf for british speakers,i found this very rude and we often had to head out instead of staying in the hotel. The rooms were basic but nice and the maids kept them very clean. Overall the maid service was the only good thing about the hotel! It couldnt have been our age because we also met 4 couples and families from all over Britain who had exactly the same snubbed reception!

“Great, no complaints”

Not a single complaint here, maybe the room was a little small and basic but it was cleaned daily with fresh towels and linen each other day. No hairdryers mind!!!!

Flew from Cardiff on a clear day afternoon flight, no tv or music as it was thomson's smaller planes, food excellent.

Arrived at hotel about 8pm and allowed into Dining room for evening meal. Food every day was excellent, varied, fresh with o complaints.

Room we were allocated was in the front of the hotel, no view and overlooking busy motorway junction. No real sound problems, even with the balcony dors open all night. Suffered as a resultof the mozies and we went on safari daily leaving squashed bodies on ceilings. mirrors and walls ~ NB this was the only night time entertainment as the hotel hadn't really arranged any.

We tried to change to a different room but was told that the hotel was full and none were available, however I feel that if we spoke Spanish, German or Klingon things would have been different. In the end we were satisfied with the room as by the end of the day it was nice to have shade and cool wind. Beware if you are offered a room above the dance floor on the first or second floor of above the dining rooms ~ self explainatory i think.

Thomson rep appears on day one and is never seen again, 24 hour phone line available but your basically on your own.

We were dissapointed to find that the nearest beach was being worked on by the council but San Agustin was 100 yards North and maspalomas dunes were 400 yeards South. It was early in the year so the water in the sea may have been a bit chilly but the three pools were excellent and by mid-day cooling to swim in and just ease the sore bits. IT WAS HOT!!!!!!!!!!

In all it was a good hoilday. we took the bus to las palmas and had a look around, we took up the option of being shown around the Gran Anfi complex (time share) and were really impressed (shocked at the price) but we were looked after, fed and watered.

Took the taxi from the hotel to the YAMBO Shopping centre in Playa del Inglis and had some great nights on the ground floor with Gay/drag cabarets and watching the "clown" mimicking the passers by and taking the p**** out of the visitors as they strolled aroud the three open air bars to the South East corner overlooking the Bungie ride.............. you will find it if you look and enjoy his antics.......... look for the bald bloke with the clown make up............ hillarious.

For a good day out, take a bus or taxi to Faro at the end of the dunes, have a look around and walk back to Playa de Inglis along the shore and around the dunes, it's a damn good way of starting your tan but beware it's a nudist beach................ I kept my socks and hat on, well i am welsh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were here last year and had taken a bus from Plays del Inglis to Porti Rico and Porto Mogan. well worth it and lovely to walk around "little venice" for something spectarular and reasonable, catch the glass bottom ferries back from Morgan to rico and on to Arguinequin via Anfi, lovely way to see the coast line, the new complexess that cling to the cliffs and the fish that swim with the boats. All three have good (man made beaches) and the buses are regular returning to the Beverly (right outside).

In all - NO COMPLAINTS!!!!! a good holiday, good weather, good food and hot sun.

I have photos (500) feel free to email me at dafudd@gmail.com and I will send you an invite link to where they are stored with kodak Gallery. Anything else I can add or offfer any advice, feel free to email.

ENJOY!!!!!!

PS: Previious holiday photos at http://www.daiapy.co.uk which include Gran canaria, Fuertuventura and Tunisia (5 times) and of course Wales.

“Beverly Park is a three star hotel”

Beverly Park Hotel

24 Apr 2008
1/1 found this review helpful

The Beverly Park is exactly what it says it is, a 3 star hotel. The food is pretty good especially the standard of the meat, no fat or gristle. The only fault with the restaurant is the queues and the lack of choice for vegetarians. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is mostly frequented by Germans and a few other Europeans. There were always plenty of seats by the pools which was clean but very cold in April. it is on the edge of the resort which means plenty of walking to the nearest nightlife of note, a lot of which is up steep steps. We did not see any of the entertainment but we heard it was not up to much. In summery I would not go here for an all inclusive holiday, but for a cheap week out of school holidays it fits the bill and the budget. Don't get mugged by a tour operator, I priced our holiday up through Thomson and it would have cost £1600, did it myself for £700 for 3 people flights and half board.
