“Center of everything”

Hotel Eugenia Victoria

5 Jun 2008

Date: June08
Reviewer: 43yr married.
We have stayed in this hotel for 3yrs running as it has always offered great value for money. Having 3 children we look for good maintainence, good food, central to everything going on and enough to entertainment if we stay on site. This hotel has it all. The pool is a good size and it is monitored by the managment during the day. Onsite activity programs run regular and so do fitness programs. It is true that some of the furnishings seem ready for replacement, but it very clean and for me that out weighs glitzy light shades. The staff ALWAYS have time for you and if you are there for a special occation they make some nice gesture to make your stay happy. After 3yrs of going for our anniversary this hotel has proven to be a keeper for our memories and for all the right reason.
Well done to the hotel managment team.
We now live in Australia and this is one thing I miss about not being in UK.
Thank you
S. Baker

This hotel is supposed to be 3 star, I personally wouldnt give it a 2, the rooms are very dated something out of the early 70s all dark wood everywhere in the rooms very dated decor , on one morning we got up and there was no water running. The food here is terrible ive stayed in other 3 stars in Playa Del ingles (Buenoventura & Hotel Neptuno) where the food was A+ this hotel im afraid is not capable of cooking decent food, on one night the food was warmed up left overs from the day before and im not kidding... The other evenings meals ranged from some rice, soggy fries, some kind of soggy battered fish sticks, soggy onion rings, etc, with a filthy chocolate fountain running every night. Then there was the breakfasts ive never seen it cooked like this before, raw bacon tipped on the griddle and cooked in a big heap, until it was burnt to nothing alongside burnt fried eggs. Yuk. Then there are other people from other parts of europe who decide they all want to allocate themselves the sun loungers and place towels on them early in the morning and dont sit on them until mid afternoon!!!
The bar at this hotel was the most expensive on the whole island euro 4.95 for a vodka and coke and not even Smirnoff vodka!! Thats more then UK, what a rip off. Also If you have night flight home like we did there was no consession for paying and keeping the room until early evening either like most hotels would offer, I was laughed at for asking and told im must vacate by midday my flight home wasnt until 3am. All in all I would never stay here again im very surprised UK tour operators use this hotel. So youve been warned!!!

Just back from a week here, for our aniversary, and what a fantastic hotel..
We booked in at 0430, and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. A good start.. and it just got better and better.
True about the reports of the hotel not having many english (or scottish) guests, but so what, the other guests were polite enough, and not nearly as rowdy as the english can get. The majority of the guests were in fact dutch, although there were a fair few germans as well. Most of them spoke good english (unlike us lazy brits who expect everyone to speak in our native tongue..)
The sunbeds were not a problem, we put our towels out the first day, but didnt bother after that and never had a problem getting a good spot. The hotel does remove the towels if the beds have been lying unused.
The food was great, a fab selection with something for everyone. As much as you like to eat, with great snacks too. Also try the outside bar for something different, great chicken and steak (cooked on a hot stone), also its table service too. (and all for nothing!!)
Also the rum and rasin ice cream is to die for..
Again as much drinks as you can consume. With branded spirits, not just local ones. Also cocktails, and wine (by the bottle if you like, and not the glass). Also every kind of soft drink, with plenty of teas and coffee, again the capucinno is fab.
The rooms are big, spotless, and just for sleeping in!
Entertainment was also great, who cares if you cant understand the dutch karaoke, it was still hilarious!!
The drag show is a must, absolutely FAB. Also there was a magic shoe, flamenco dancers, and even an eagle (the feathered kind) show.
The wellness centre is a must, but book early as its very busy. You are given a booklet worth 20 euros that you can use towards any treatments, (we had a facial and a hamman massage, great) The first visit is free, and well worth going too.
Our flight home had a pick up at 0130, with the room having to be vacated at noon the day before, which concerned us a little, but it was not a problem. We were given a room and full use of all facilities, and full use of the all inclusive menu too!! All Free of Charge!!
When we went to check out at 0115, we were asked if we wanted tea or coffee and something to eat while we waited for the bus. They could not do enough for us.
Cant understand any of the bad reports on here, not the case for us. All in all a FANTASTIC HOLIDAY..

Stayed here 19th April 08 for 7 nights all inclusive it was fabulous
We booked after reading the reviews that said hardly any English can't stand being on holiday with them. We love meeting people from other nationalities and we met some great people during our stay.
The food was fantastic loads of choice at every mealtime (if your looking for sausage egg and chips go somewhere else !!!)
Try the outside terrace bar for lunch all freshly cooked including steaks on hot stones.
Drinks are all well known makes and really good
Bar staff were great especially Angel !!!
Pool area very clean and yes there can be a fight for beds but just get up and put your towels out we did !!
Rooms yes there are basic and could do with an update but are very clean
Entertainment is great if you take it for what it is!!!
Would we go again, yes looking to go back in August

“Don't go to this hotel unless your older or german!”

Hotel Eugenia Victoria

19 Apr 2008

We paid an absolute fortune to stay here and would never go back. My mother and i went over and were put in a groundfloor bungalow that wasn't even joined to the hotel!! we were beside a hude genarator than made so much noise we couldn't sleep and when we asked to change rooms the next day they were very rude and wouldn't give us a room until we told them there was no way we were spending another night in that room. Did i mention the HUGE (and i'm not exaggerating) cockroach we found in that room? when we were moved we still found the hotel very noisy until all hours and hae been put of ever going back there again. The place was 95% germans which we were never told about and not being racist but we found the majority of them very very rude. I know this is very negative but we spent alot of hard earned money to go here and were told we would have an enjoyable relaxing stay which we didn't.

DON'T STAY HERE UNLESS YOU ARE OLDER, GERMAN AND ENJOY LATE NIGHTS!
