Have just returned from the Sir Anthony and it really was faultless. We stayed in a 3 storey suite which had a living room/bathroom and balcony on the ground floor and bedroom and large open plan bathroom and balcony on the first floor, there was a staircase on the balcony which takes you to the roof which has a private plunge pool. The decor was a bit tired but we were advised on check out that the sir anthony is closing for approx 6 months next year for refurbshment.
Everyday we had cava/dried fruit or red wine and cheeses left in the room.
The room was cleaned every day and the maid would come round in the afternoon to see if we needed more towels.
The customer service we recieved was fantastic.
I am a travel agent and i would not hesitate in recommending this hotel,it was fantastic!

Dear Sir,

First of all we would like to thank you for your appreciations mentioned on your review and for having chosen the Sir Anthony for your holidays.

As you well mentioned on your review, from April ´08 we have commenced with the hotel refurbishment and our aim is to have it finalized in the period of 6 months.

We have decided to refurbish Sir Anthony as we want to strategically position the hotel in the XXI century 5***** deluxe hotels of the area. This will cater for better and additional services, fully updated rooms and follow our personalized services to our guests.

We would like to be of a help to you in any matter related to the Sir Anthony you might need.

Once again we thank you for your kind words.

Best regards

Stayed in the Sir Anthony on 9th December for 1 week.
Excellent location, smaller hotel than the others in the Mare Nostrum complex, with a more personal service.
The decor was a little tired but they are closing for 6/8 months next year to renovate the whole hotel.
Would definitely go back & look forward to the re-vamped sir anthony.
Recommend the restaurants in the Sir Anthony & the Pyramides (£5 sup if on HB). The others were OK.
If you like classy upmarket bars, go to Harrys, The Monkey Bar, Biancos & my favourite Magic. If you like Brit bars with Neil Diamond, Robbie Williams, Tenerifes answer to The temptations (Background) etc there are plenty of bars at the back of the Safari complex. All with a great atmosphere. My favourite is Johnny Kelly, who impersonates Elvis, he is fantastic - he is at the Drop Inn (near the Casino) or he has his own bar the Bay View at Torviscas. Strongly recommend you go & see him.

Excellent place to go this time of year, lovely Christmas decorations, in the Sarfari centre across the main road.Warm weather, no 'larger louts!'

We have just returned from a very relaxing week at Sir Anthony. I must admit I was a little concerned about some of the comments about the decor of the hotel, but was pleasantly surprised. The beds are huge and very firm - but the bathrooms are very 80's with black and white marble and pink sunken baths! If you think of a Jackie Collins novel with Rock stars in it - you are just about there! Clean bedding every day which was a real bonus. We stayed on the ground floor which was great as we could just nip back in to our room at any time. The breakfasts were good - the chefs will cook anything you want and there was the added bonus of champagne each morning, caviar (I didn't partake) and a chocolate fondue (yes, for breakfast!! again didn't partake) The service that we received from the staff was top class and we will definately return next year.

When we were looking at where to stay in Tenerife the two most important critera we were looking at were: 1.The hotel had to provide entertainment for children and 2. The hotel had to be 5star. With this in mind we found the Sir Anthony which seemed to offer the solution a realativly small 5 star hotel but part of a much larger resort. The beauty with this set up was that we could use all of the resorts facilities inc pools, entertainment, gyms etc but people in the resort could not use our hotel. The result of this is you have the choice to relax around your own very quiet pool or around a larger pool with children.

Now the hotel itself, we were met on arrival by the reception staff and the general manager which was an excellent gesture we were invited to sit down for a welcome drink whilts the checking in was carried out.During this period Angel from resevation very carefully explained all of the information necessary for our stay.We were then shown to our room which was a duplex suite with a private pool on the roof terrace. The room was large enough but i was not sure about the open plan bathroom. It was also obvious a refurb was long over due.Facilities in the room were fine as expected from a 5star hotel. All the public areas were clean and in good condition and the pool and gardens beautifully maintained.

As travellers who always stay in 5 star properties around the world our expectations are always high and what was compromised in the dated room(6 month full refurd begins in april) was more than made up for by the quality of service provided by every member of staff from the room cleaners right the way to the hotels manager well done to all of you and special thanks to Angel for all of her assistance cannot wait to come back when the refurb is complete at which point i will have no doubt this will be a true 5 star hotel

My wife and I stayed at the Sir Anthony Hotel from January 16th 2007 for 1 week. With trepidation of the reputation of Tenerife (our first time here although we have previously been to other Canarian Islands) we were pleased to see a hotel in an area outside Playa de las Americas without Macdonalds and similar eateries.

The area is served by high class Jewellery, Perfume, Fashion and electrical shops and many different Restaurants. The hotel, situated on the sea front with a promenade just outside the hotel gardens (security key only to reach the pathway) has 72 bedrooms allowing a very personal service from the general hotel and Restaurant staff as reported by other members. The level of cleanliness and general services is excellent and the Restaurant menu and quality of presentation is well within the range of a 5 star hotel.

On half board, the a la Carte menu comprises a choice of 7 cold and 7 hot starters, 7 or 8 main courses and 8 desserts to choose from, plus Chef`s Specials for the night - more than adequate for anyone, whether standard, vegetarian, Coeliac or other. The Chef`s will arrange whatever type of food you require with short notice. The size of the hotel allows this degree of personalisation.

Facilities are limited to the swimming pool, gardens (lush vegitation) and surrounding area and if you want quiet peaceful days this is for you. For those who want `activities` there are the other 4 hotels on the near site.

We of a certain age (66 in my case) do not wish to have `families and children` causing mayhem. This is OUR type of hotel and due to it`s size also OUR personnel level of service. We know of many couples who have been coming here in winter for many years. We now know why!

I can highly recommend this hotel.

Dear Sir,

It is a pleasure to receive such nice comments regarding your stay at Sir Anthony Hotel.

As you well mentioned our main assets are; A small 5***** hotel with a very personalized service and attention dedicated to provide you, relax and calmness that you need for a comfortable stay.

Know since April ´08 we have taken the opportunity to close the hotel during 6 months to fully refurbish the rooms, garden areas, restaurants and common areas. All this is taking place right know and our aim is to update the infrastructure with the service and surrounding 5***** hotels of the island.

In the last 3 years this area of Tenerife Island is more and more conscious of the tourism and is taking action to progress and up market the island between most good exclusive destinations but at only a 3 to 5 hour flight from Europe. Sir Anthony is one of the first hotels to follow this line due to its head quarters, based in Barcelona and with allot of influence on these changes.

For the moment we will be aware of the progress on the building works but in about 6 months we will be opened again.

Once again we thank you for your kind comments and are at your service for any further information requested.

Best regards.
