We visited this resort as a group of 4 lads to celebrate a 21st birthday. We stayed for four nights and flew from Liverpool.

We picked this hotel based upon reviews on this website and also other sites. Even though we where there for the nights out we did not want to stay directly near the main strip for obvious reasons!

We found the apartments to be in an absolutely ideal location. It was of equi-distance between Las Americas and Los Cristianos and so we used both to good effect, i.e. restaurants in Los Cris, nightlife in Las Americas. The walk to each was about a steady ten minutes.

The apartment itself was spot-on from the minute we got there. We caught a private taxi from the airport which cost us around 20euros, definitely recommended. No hassle checking in, the room was spotless inc large bathroom and kitchen area. We were even treated to the swan/boat towels! (I do have pics to follow which i will try to add at a later date!)

The hotel itself is more of a family oriented place, so if your after pulling at the pool then don't bother! We preferred the beach which again was only a short walk away. We ate food in the hotel restaurant one night and I would recommend this if you don't have time to explore anywhere else. Basic but tasty enough.

For eating out we would recommend the Star of Asia for indian cuisine (even though we had a long wait for food) and also the steak house past the Safari shooping centre at the end of Los Cris, near Park Santiago 1.

Nightlife was great, even in FEB and we would recommend the Bus Stop and accompanying bars before moving on to Yates/Edwards, Down Under (Indie music) and then Tramps and Rags to end night. We never bothered with Veronicas at night. Good tip is to bartar with the PR's to get the decent shots, not Sourz n Schnapps, Linekers was a bit expensive!

To rap it up, would highly recommend both resort and apartments, we had a great trip and all of us agreed we would revisit both in future if possible!

we arrived to the golf II after being upgraded from the california(which was the worst experience of my life) and i have to say that i cant say one bad thing about it. the food from the pool bar was lovely, the drinks were relitavely cheap(cocktail 3.20 euro's!), the staff were very friendly with a good level of english, the was a doorman on the main door all night who was very friendly and polite. the pool and surrounding area was very clean. the apparments were very clean, nice, and supplied everything needed adn more.maids visited nearly every day.shop attached and a 24hr supermarket and lovely restaurant opposite (short walk through the park) only 10 min walk to beach, clubs and center of las americas and 5 euro taxi.pay phone just outside appartment. cant fault these appartments as they were beautiful and suitable for any age. highly recommended.

We, couple early 50's, booked to stay in California Apartments. When we arrived we were told that there was a problem with the water supply to our room and that we were being upgraded free of additional charge to the Compostela beach 2. this was a much better hotel, nice large apartment with all facilities, brandy glasses as well as wine glasses in the kitchen - and a corkscrew- (How many times do you have to go and buy a corkscrew because there isn't one in the kitchen?!!!)

Nice bar with cheap drinks for a hotel, good pool. Did not try the food - hotel caters mainly for scandanavian guests and food seems to cater for them although I am sure other more familiar food available. BBQ 1 night and spanish feast every saturday.

Only drawback - 15-20 mins walk to centre of Playa. Would definitely reccommend to all ages and all groups.

PS Beware anyone offering accommodation in Compostela Beach 3 we were told the developers had fallen out and the resort does not have the appropriate licences

I was expecting the worst after reading very bad reviews but I have to say I was delighted with the hotel. We stayed for a week in august in Compostella Beach Golf 2. The appartments were clean, no cockroches & based 10minutes walk out of town so it was pretty quiet at night. The staff were very friendly but the bar food was terrible and over priced. the pool was clean but if wanted to use the sunbeds you had to pay 1.50 eur which was a rip off. If you are planning on going on excursions dont book through your rep as they tried to charge us nearly 20 eur more than what you can buy locally. The whale and dolphin cruise is fantastic and well worth it. I wouldnt recomend the hotel for groups as it was mainly familys and couples staying and also its quite far from all the main nightclubs and bars.

We stayed at Compostela Beach Golf II during August 2006 for 2 weeks.

Apartments are of a really good standard. we stayed in an interior apartment on the ground floor. apart # 152
Cleaned every day bar two...although bins are emptied on the other two days.
Great kitchen, good size master bedroom and bathroom good size clean and powerful shower
pool is a good size, with no very deep end, this is brilliant if, like us, you have children under age of 10. Pool cleaned regular, poolside cleaned thorougly every single morning.
All Staff very friendly and welcoming
Nice restaurant, reasonably priced for breakfasts, meals and snacks. Bar prices not cheap but are any?
Positioned outside of the town centre.
placed nicely for 3 resorts - las americas, vistas and los christanios...return taxi from each resprt cost a max. of 5 euro.
No cockroaches

Poolside was a little slippy but if you walk on the white tile sections they have more grip. Seen a couple of children slip and hurt themselves. Ambulance had to be called for one early teens irish boy who had to be taken to hospital for a couple of stiches to his forehead.

If booking private transfer from airport ensure you tell driver Compestalla Beach club Golf II - we orignally got dropped off at town centre compestalla beach. I think there are 3 of simlar name in the resort of las Americas.

Nothing really bad to say - although I guess it could be noisy if you were staying in an exterior apartment overlooking main road (although not too busy)

The one negative - they allow same sex groups of young adults to stay - which made sleep during our first week a little interupted.

Supermarket next door was handy but expensive.

Overall a great place to spend two weeks. Would recommend to friends and family.
