I stayed for three nights there for the 4th of July weekend, so I already know I was gonna be overcharged. That's a given. Since, the website doesn't have any pictures of the building, I didn't know what to expect. I had problems from the time I checked in.
First, the building itself is VERY old. It's a 3 floor structure that looks like it's ready to collapse. Once, I checked in they told me since parking (which is a joke there) was "limited", I could park along the back of the building. That's because there are only four parking slots in front of the rooms. Which made it VERY inconvenient to unload our stuff. Also, because it was on the second floor, which I was told would be a ground floor room when I made the reservation. But I didn't make a big deal about that.
When I got inside the room I noticed that there was not mini fridge or microwave in the room, as was supposed to be. I went down to the front desk and to their credit immediately brought up both. Once I got settle in, things got better. The only other bad things I can say about the experience is that there was no maid service. I know now that maid service is done upon request only, but I was never told that. It wasn't a big deal unless we'd stayed one more day.
Another bad thing is that the room we stayed in had a door going to the next room, actually the bathroom of the next room. On our last night there, we stayed on the beach most of the night, but I did come back to the room to shower and our neighbors were EXTREMELY loud. Kids and teenagers were not yelling, but screaming, thinking it was there back yard. If we had stayed in that night, I would have raised a BIG stink about that. I
know that it sounds like I'm ripping the hotel, but it wasn't as bad as it may seem. It was quaint and relaxing once I got settle in. It's a laid back atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. I would probably stay here again if it was the off season. The $165 per night was just way too much for a mom and pop type hotel.
