This was our first trip to Port Aransas and we stayed at the Sandpiper at the advice of a friend. We were very pleased with our stay. Our room was very clean and recently updated. All the appliances appeared to be new and everything was in working order. The staff was friendly and very helpful. It was very easy to walk to the beach, and they have canopies and chairs available (but you have to get there pretty early to get them, esp. on weekend days). There was quite a bit of seaweed, but a bulldozer came every morning to clean up the beach. The pool was nice and clean with lots of lounge chairs. Also, the hot tub, which is limited to those 16 and older, is separate from the main pool and gated, so it makes it easy to keep younger kids out. They also provide you with clean towels for the beach or pool whenever you need them. The Sandpiper is a little further along the main highway out of town, so it takes a little longer to go into town to shop or go to a restaurant, but the difference is really only about 10 or 15 minutes. We would definitely recommend it.

Although by no means a "luxurious" sort of place, there is also nothing to complain about with regards to the Sandpiper.

My entire family goes EVERY August or September. In general, we rent four or five condos. All have always been clean and pleasant. The staff has always been accommodating. You can count on the places being predicably up to par if not spectacular.

The views from most of the condos are excellent and as a whole, the Sandpiper is better than other comparable condos on the Texas coast.

Husband, two kids and I stayed 4 days at the Sandpiper during spring break. Our 4th floor two bedroom condo (407) was lovely with a great view. The owners had obviously kept up the condo and everything was very comfortable including the well equiped kitchen.

Although significant rainfall had occured the day before and day of checkin, the heated pool was still comfortable for swimming and we really liked that the spa was "adult only". (Kids of course were not as happy with that rule. I read other reviews that this was not a kid friendly resort, but that is not the case.) The resort provided plently of lounges in the pool area and all were in good condition. The beach did have quite a bit of seaweed and there was an odor. But the day before we left, they did bring in equipment to clear the beach which made it more pleasant.

The only negative was only one of their two elevators were operational. We heard the second had been out for an extended period of time. This was only an inconvience on checkout day when everyone was trying to get luggage carriers on the elevator around the same time. We would definitely return.

We really enjoyed the condo, yes it could be updated but almost all hotels on the TX coast need updating. I just like staying here b/c it gave you a feeling of home and not the it's just a place to sleep. We had a beautiful beach view. You can walk right out to the beach but get there early if you want a cabana tarp and louge chairs. There weren't any wild beach crowds just families there to have fun and relax. We only stayed 2 nights, wish we would have stayed one more. I would have like to visit the little cozy town one more time. We ate at Fins, food was good but it was really busy. Also they cook the fish you catch for ya. I think most restaurants in the area will do that. What I don't like is the fact you can drive on the beach. Although it is nice to not have to carry all your beach stuff out from the parking lot through the hotel to the beach. I guess if people would drive a little slower I would be more pleased.
