We have been staying at Sea Gull most every year the past 8 years, and it has become our favorite place on the island to stay. We have had stints at Channel View, Port Royale, La Mirage, Mayan Princess before settling on Sea Gull.

It's about mid way on the island so you are about 10 minutes from Port A, and about 15 minutes from The South Padre Causeway where Snoopy's restaurant is (highly recommended). and another 5 minutes past that to HEB and Walmart Super Center. The condos are nice and each is individually furnished by the owner, we have recently began to book with Calley and John Janovyak via VRBO. They have a 3 bedroom unit that is as nicely appointed and has washer and dryer in the unit, as well as a freezer. The best feature for us is they have a "bunk room" in the third bedroom so both sets of parents have their privacy in their own rooms.

I read some of the other reviews complaining about getting towels, if you pile them up by the door they will be replaced from my experience. I have also found the staff to be helpful, but they do get very busy at checkout on Sundays.

Overall one of the best family condos on the island, far enough down the beach to have less of a crowd and their seem to be a lot of owner occupied condos that are not in the rental pool, that means fewer people on the beach, in the pool, and using the grills. The pool is nice but not lavish, the pool are has a nice semi-shaded area with a handful of smokers that can be used for grilling or smoking, and their are men's and women's restrooms next to the pool for added convenience.

Overall one of the best values on the island and we have stayed a BUNCH of places before settling on this one. the other place I like is the Mayan Princess but they just don't have very many three bedroom units and they are a bit pricier, but have a nicer pool setup. Great place to meet up with other families, last October we had 5 families staying in three condos at the place and a great time was had by all! If you are a boater or Kayaker there is a primative boat lauch directly across from the Condos so you can be on the bay in minutes yet enjoy the view that comes with every unit of the beach. One other thing that we have found VERY convenient is the ability to buy bags of ice at the front desk. That way when you find you kids did not close up the cooler and most of your ice is melted you can just walk up the boardwalk to the front desk and grab a bag and you are back in business!

Overall just a great place to bring the family for a vacation!

We really enjoyed our stay there. I really like the location and the staff was pretty friendly. In addition, the condo was really nice. we had two bedrooms and a great view of the water and dunes. It was great sitting out on the balcony, drinking coffee in ther morning.

What a horrible experience. We requested towel service daily during our week stay and finally had to hunt down a maid and take towels from her cart. We never had service at all. For $600 a night I expect some towels!

I DO NOT recommend this hotel. Rude all the way around! Plus there aren't many cabanas - so bring your own umbrella/canopy!

We spent a full week in condo #201 which we rented directly from the owners John & Calley Janovyak thru Vrbo. What a fantastic place to spend a week with your family, completely furnished with a full kitchen complete with pots, pans, condiments, ice maker and the whole works. This three bedroom unit was perfect for the 6 1/2 of us. Extremely comfortable in every way with more room than you could ever need. Location and beachfront access was perfect and if you got up early enough in the mornings you can go down and pick out which beach chairs/loungers/cover you wanted by leaving your towels. Gulf view and pool view from the balconies was out of this world and allowed you to watch and enjoy both the sunrise and the sunset by simply moving from one balcony to another. We definitely will return and would highly recommend this property for any families looking for a great place to stay without a whole lot of people around you either at the condo or on the beach or in the pool. Except for the weekends you pretty much have your own stretch of beautiful beach to enjoy !!
