This is your normal 2 story motel. The room was clean, and the staff was very friendly. I called only one day ahead and booked a room with them directly in about 3 minutes (and it was Easter weekend, it was pretty bad weather though). Any way. It is your regular motel until....1) The bed was a little stiffer than I would like and you may want to bring your own pillows 2) if you want snacks or drinks, bring some from the grocery store 'cause the drink machine ate some change and the snack machine GIVES quarters for change but doen't TAKE quarters. So we only got one snicker bar (which was probably a blessing in disguise). But that was the only not so good stuff.....Oh, and if a hot shower is important to you, this is the place to be. Man that thing got hot quick!!! And there are microwaves and refridgerators in all of the rooms.

My mother and I got the monthly rate of $650 on one of their handicap rooms. That included continental breakfast each morning and maid service twice a week. Towels could be exchanged daily. The help were all very nice and made 2 ladies from Iowa feel very welcome there.

We drove to Port Aransas one night and hadn't reserved a room anywhere. This was the first motel we saw when we got on the island. The outside is very cute, with lots of patio furniture and little decorated sand buckets for ashtrays. The room was clean, comfortable and in good repair. It felt like being at home. I would love to stay here again.

Although the Captain's Quarters is convenient for fishing trips, do not trust any quote over the phone.
Our group stayed at the Captain's Quarters for the past 3 years. The motel provided a convenient location for us (annual company fishing trip). In March we called the motel for current rates and were quoted $74.00 per room (2 person occupancy). We provided the information to our employees and clients and secured 31 reservations with deposits. We called Captain's Quarters back to reserve the rooms and were told the rooms are now $99.00. We spoke with the manager who was quite frustrated with her staff and was packing for a personal trip stating she "really did not have the time" but would see what she could do and call right back. After waiting an hour, we booked our group at another motel.
