This is a great place to stay in Port Aransas. I was looking for a new place in the area to stay and am very pleased with the Candcastle Condos. We did some comparing and the price is the best, and had a beautiful beach area. One thing we noticed with many of the other condos beach areas, was that there was little space between the water and the road, and many families were right in the area where the cars drove. There was nothing between the cars and the people. VERY dangerous with small children. When we drove down the beach in those areas we had to stop a number of times to wait for people to move. Many times for small children. At the Sandcastle there is a hugh area away from the road that is blocked so cars do not drive where you are on the beach.
The rooms were clean, staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was immaculate and beautiful. One of the best parts for me when booking our room, was that you can look at the actual rooms. If you go to their website, they have a virtual tour by unit, and you can check availabilty for the one you like. Really nice feature.
I would highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back.

We just got back from our weekend stay at the Sandcastle. I have to say I was a little leery because of how inexpensive the standard rooms were--I thought for sure it would be a dump. I was totally shocked & impressed by the clean & bright room. We had a poolside/beach view that had a king bed, kitchenette, and standard bathroom. Check in was a breeze & the front desk was helpful w/restaurant recommendations. Overall, it was a great stay!

The condo was very nice. A lot of room and well decorated. It's about 2 miles to the main drag where most of the restaurants and shops are. The pool and hot tubs are very nice. The pool was a bit too cold to enjoy in mid April however. The walk to the beach is easy and close. We ate dinner at Moby Dick-good food-bad service.

First, I have to thank the other members of Tripadvisor for their accurate reviews of this great property. I made my decision based on your reviews - so once again - thank you TripAdvisor reviewers!

We stayed in #217, an efficiency overlooking the pool, with a view on the gulf. The room was tastefully done, clean and well stocked with kitchen things.

We ate breakfast each morning on the patio overlooking the pool and it was perfect! Calm and cool and you hear nothing but the laughing gulls and the waves.

SandCastle is right next to a beach entrance, so when you want to get around town, you can just hop on the beach and drive into "town". We took every chance we could to roll down the windows and enjoy the sea breezes.

The condos are also conveniently located within a short distance from all of the best dining places like Venetian Hot Plate and Pelican Club, so you don't spend a lot of time driving from some of the properties further down 361.

All in all we had a great time here for our birthday celebration and I'd go back here each time.

My husband and I stayed there for 2 nights and we loved it! It's in the perfect location, right on the beach. The pool was awesome, definitely the best hotel pool I've ever seen. The rooms were pretty nice, average looking, but spacious and clean. Ours had a fridge and microwave and even an oven with a stovetop so we could cook if we wanted too. We had so much fun that we are planning a trip this summer with our son.
