My boyfriend and I stayed in a studio/efficiency unit (#111) September 14th and 15th. We loved the proximity to the beach, the boardwalk leading through the dunes (with the freshwater pond full of turtles!), and the large pool area with its numerous umbrellas and lounge chairs. We had a great view of the pool/hot tub and the beach. The staff was pleasant, too. The unit we rented could use some updating (I believe the complex was built in 1983), especially in the bathroom. Having a refrigerator, sink, microwave, toaster and stove/oven in the unit saved us a lot of money and time and was so convenient. There's only minimal housekeeping here (they come once a day to replace the towels and take out the trash), so everything else is up to you while you're in the rooms.

As another posted mentioned, the pool area is open until 11 pm, so if your unit faces the pool, the noise level will be loud until 11 pm.

Overall, it was a good deal for the price we paid.

Beautiful, clean rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Got a gorgeous beach view deluxe room at a very reasonable off-season rate. Beautiful pool, wonderful beach. And one of the few places left that still have smoking rooms! Hated to leave and already planning to book another trip soon.

Home away from home! We went for a nice family vacation and plan to be back sooner than in a year. We found a room from the webpage just the way we wanted it and it was more than we could have imagined. The boardwalk made it great to go to the beach without having to drive. People were friendly and helpful. We really don't have anything to complain about except for having to come home.

We stayed at the Sandcastle the first time over 10 years ago. Our most recent visit was July 22 - 27 and we found exactly what we remembered. Great condos in a great location with well kept rooms and grounds with a staff that was very responsive and helpful. We had an upper level 1 bedroom unit that had a great view of the ocean as well as a distant view of the pool area on the inside of the horseshoe shaped complex. Our room had everthing we needed and had recently been updated with new carpet and furniture that was very nice. Our 13 and 15 kids also found the Sandcastle more than accomodating as they were easily able to go back and forth between the beach and our condo unit.
I hope it isn't another 10 years before we make it back to the Sandcastle.
