My daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in September, and this put a halt to our dining out. Her GI told us that the Wildwood Grill had a gluten free menu, and since we had enjoyed eating there prior to her diagnosis, we were happy to be able to bring her there again.
We told the greeter, who was also our server, that we needed a gluten free menu as our daughter could not eat anything with gluten. She happily told us that they could make anything on the menu without gluten. After further conversation, we found out that there is no seperation of cooking tools, that there is not seperation of foods, and that they grill and deep fry everything on the same grill and in the same oil, and there might be "some residue" from the glutened items, but that it depended on her "sensitivity". WRONG!!
If these restaurants want to provide a safe and gluten free menu for people who will become very ill from eating gluten, then they should first know what they are talking about and how all of this works before advertising their "Gluten Free Menu". We are NOT returning to this restaurant.
