decided to take my girlfriend up to burlington to visit her old campus ( along with some of her friends) up at champlain college and simply decided to go with Marriott because of these reviews and the fact i trust them. while exploring downtown i was wondering where the hotel could be when suddenly BAM! its legit right on the water just one road in between it and the lake. we ended up getting back to the room around 6 and they put us up in room 603 (right next to the suites) and the room was a good size and the view was amazing. the set up of the room had the bed facing the wall sized widow of the lake so when i woke up (no need for alarm clock the sun did it perfectly) there was just the same picturesque view waiting. the lobby was a perfect lounge for waiting while the valet pulled the car up (for the extra 2 bucks ill have them park it )and the staff talked and laughed with us while we waited. although i only thought i would do this trip once (its a 5 hour drive home) i am hoping to return annually to enjoy the shops and this hotel again.

Room tip: get the lake view, yes it costs more but my god it's worth it

There are plenty of good hotel choices in Burlington (including many at a lower price), but we chose the Courtyard by Marriott because of the good location near downtown, the Marriott reputation (I can't recall ever being disappointed by a Marriott), and the availability of rooms with a view of Lake Champlain. We paid extra for the lake view, but it was definitely worth it. Our room was what one would expect at a Marriott, with very nice beds and bedding. Check-in service was good.

Room tip: Ask for and, if necessary, pay extra for a room with a view of Lake Champlain.

Booked at gov rate on wbsite. Check in was courteous and rapid. Free parking during the labor day weekend! Normally, less than 10$ anyways.

Was provided with a large corner unit with 2 double beds, partial view of the lake (moreo of parking lot next door), modern furniture, sofa, LCD TV with good channel selection, large bathroom, free wifi.

The gym in the basement is well equipped, plenty of cardio and weights, and the pool is good for a good dip, less so for laps. Did not use the restaurants but there is plenty of options close by (Skinny Pancake anyone?).

Well worth if you get a good deal. Walking distance to downtown is a major plus.

Love this hotel...staff is pleasant, accommodating and informative...rooms are clean, up-to-date and well-equipped. The hotel is well situated in Burlington overlooking Lake Champlain. We've stayed in a variety of rooms (lake-facing, city-facing) they are all nice rooms. Parking is convenient to the hotel, and location is very convenient to downtown and Church Street venue. Would highly recommend it for a stay!!!!

Room tip: I would go upper level, away from elevator and city-side....less traffic noise. Although it's Vermont and city noise is minimal at night.

Unfortunately I was in a room in this hotel with a view straight into the rooms of the Hilton next door which was a little awkward because I like to have my curtains open to let in the daylight as well as see a little bit of the lake. So if you want a good view make sure you specifically request it. The location of the hotel is great. Close to the lake and close to shopping and food, etc. Service in the hotel was very good as well. A good, clean, nice place to stay but nothing exceptional.

Dear KristyNichole,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us, and thank you for the kind words regarding our service.

I am sorry that you were not able to enjoy the lake view from your room. We do indeed have many guest rooms that have a breathtaking view of Lake Champlain. Unfortunatley, not all of the rooms at the hotel have this view. We would love for you to join us again to expereince this. In the future when booking, please feel free to inquire about booking a lake view room for your stay. We would be happy to asssist you with this.

Warm Regards,
Christian Kuzia
GM
