I work in hospitality as a day manager of a seasonal resort property so I completely understand some things that have been said here are either misleading or far too harsh. I will try my best not to be too critical.
A) The hotel is SUPER convenient. You could walk to the base lift if you wanted to or hop on the shuttle bus and it will take you over there - literally across the street. Plus, the hotel has everything you need right there. We thought about going into town our second night for dinner, but were tired from a long day of spring ski and decided to eat right at the hotel at the steakhouse. At first we thought the prices were a bit steep, but when you taste how delicious the food is and see the portion you get, it's absolutely out of this world. Best meal we have had in a long time. There are lots of little things they have there that make all the difference. Outdoor heated pool, saunas, game room, "the den" is a little lounge room with comfy couches and a big screen tv with fireplace etc. There is a ski storage room, pool table, great bar and lounge with live music etc.
ALL STAFF at this place is FANTASTIC. They are so polite and helpful it is just excellent. I don't think I have ever been called ma'am so many times in one weekend! :)
The rooms are very clean and have everything you need and more. We had a remote operated fireplace, mini fridge and TV with DVD player and also had a little balcony.
CONS: The breakfast was really terrible. Everything was very low quality so it seemed stale and old ... I swear the bagels were like gray-ish in color etc. They had a waffle maker, which was cool, but I am sensitive to MSG and Aspartame type preservatives and additives and I was horribly sick from the waffle I ate so that tells you that it's a GREAT IDEA, but executed in the most cost efficient way possible and that ultimately has a very negative effect. At my resort we overhauled our breakfast due to a similar issue and figured to offer a deluxe continental breakfast with quality, name-brand products, it cost us about .75 cents more per person to offer the awesome breakfast that we do. They could certainly afford to do the same and it would receive great praise and appreciation from the guests. I was glad I brought my own breakfast items. UTILIZE THE FRIDGE IN YOUR ROOM!
Also, I know we were coming toward the end of the season so the rooms have been battered all winter long, but little things like the curtains in our room were torn at the bottom hem so they looked like they were falling apart. The walls are pretty sound proof, but the 2 inch gap at the bottom of our door to the hallway was ridiculous. People in the hall sounded so loud it was downright disruptive and once you turned the lights out you had to put something down there to block the light. We wished the pool was open more than just 3:30-7:30, but I understand it is outdoors and heated and waste not, want not.
Some spring detailing is certainly in order and will make a huge difference.
Overall we loved the place and would go back again, great value for the price, very convenient both to the mountain and in hotel amenities.
pay the little bit more to get the fireplace and balcony, you will enjoy your room much more!
