“It was a dump”

I stayed at this hotel several years ago when I attended a wedding at the So. Vt. Arts Center. It was a dump. The air conditioning was substandard. There was this dog just hanging out in the lobby all day. On my way to the room, I actually had to step over him to get to the stairwell. While I wouldn't stay there ever again, it was the subject of many humorous family memories.

We are sorry to here of the experience you had three years ago. Since than the hotel has been under new ownership and has gone through major renovations. All New A/C's, new lobby and upgraded guest rooms just to name a few. The dog, as much as you liked it, was the old owners and went with them. We hope that if you are in the area again, that you stop buy to see the changes.

I went for three nights during President's week, for the second year in a row. I was there again with my daughter and this time with one grandson and his friend, both 13 years old. Again, we had a great time! I don't know how anyone could not be pleased with this hotel. You walk into an attractive lobby with a large fireplace always going, and free coffee always available, several areas of comfortable chairs and couches, and an area with a large TV, and another with small tables and chairs. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the bathrooms are not large but they are certainly adequate, and have obviously been updated in recent years. Since last year they have installed very good hairdryers. There is also cable TV in the rooms, two double beds, comfortable chair, plenty of drawers, and extra blankets. We had two rooms with great views of the slopes. The valley view rooms offer beautiful views of the mountains. Best of all. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!! Ski out the door or walk two minutes or less to the lifts! You will not find a better place! The owners are always available and really help in the day to day running of the place, the rest of the staff are also very friendly, and they all take a personal interest in the guests. An excellent breakfast buffet is included, and the restaurant is open for dinner, offering a variety of dishes, and there is a bar open in the late afternoons and evenings, often tended by the owners or different people on the staff. It's a great place for families with children of all ages. I should also mention there is an indoor pool, a small fitness room, a nice size video game room, and a pool table. I don't even ski (the rest of my group does) and I had a great time, Twice!! Go and enjoy!!

“Stay Away: Worst Place I have stayed for the Money”

Bromley Sun Lodge

I am still fuming. For the money charged, this is the worst place I have ever stayed! I paid astronomical prices for a NO STAR hotel! You can't have a good time skiing if you feel cheated and or gouged. The brochure looks great , when in person its another thing..
First their pricing policy is subject. You can't tell if they are charging for a room or per person which makes adjusting your bill impossible. Also they want all the money paided in full a month in advance! (no deposits). In terms of their amenities I was disappointed with the condition of the facilities (worn out). They advertised a heated pool yet they deliberately maintain it at 78 degress (to keep the bacteria down) yet its too cold so no one can go in! They advertise ski in , Ski out convienence yet when I returned from a day of sking I found they had locked the ski in entrance ! causing me to climb a hill to get in the main entrance! Finally they say they provide a discounted lift ticket, yet the "unaffiliated" Bromley Ski resort was providing additional discounts that were cheaper than the price my family was charged with the Sun Lodge's Ski and Stay Package. Frankly I am embarrased that I stayed and paid premium prices at this hotel , more importantly I am embarrased for the Bromley Ski resort that they let this hotel appear to be associated with them. The Sun Lodge tarnishes their image big time. Until Bromley takes over the management , or the prices come down in line with the condition of the place stay away for your own piece of mind.

stayed here 2 nights prior to moving on to a B&B ( we had previously made reservations there ) I really don't know where some of the other reviewers stayed but we found the place perfect with very reasonable rates durning the week. The rooms were fine and if you are looking for high end luxury stay at the Equinox and pay champagne rates............The included breakfast was just fine to start a day of sking and a 2 min walk to the slopes from the equiptment room was great. location, location folks - best in the area. The new owners are very friendly and accomodating and allowed us to park and leave our gear at the hotel despite staying elsewhere! Also, the entire hotel is being upgraded -takes time guys - and again the new owners are doing their best with a property that really need some fixing. In the mean time give em a chance-you will not regret it!

“Nice staff, comfortable room, kids had a great time”

We stayed for 5 days and had a wonderful time. The people that worked there were quit pleasent and the conveinience can't be beat. Everything we needed was there at the hotel or at the ski lodge. Not a big resort but I can't say enough about the way the staff gave genuine concern and attention to our special requests. Our children can't wait to go back. We'll certainly go back again.
