My husband and I booked this hotel through a "last minute deal" website. Our stay in the Burlington area was extended due to Hurricane Irene and airport shutdowns, so we decided this would be a good time to try one of those "last minute hotel deals" websites where you don't find out which hotel you are staying in until after you book it. We ended up saving about 35% this way, which was quite helpful considering all of the unplanned, additional expenses we incurred. Anyway, the hotel is older but has been renovated in recent years. Our room was in the main building on the top floor near the elevator. The front desk attendant automatically moved us to another room since the original room was adjacent to the stairs which she said can be noisy. She also recommended good eateries in Burlington which we tried and she was just very pleasant overall - i.e. a good first impression. Our room ended up being above a group of ground HVAC units and when the fans were on they were quite loud, but a dull whitenoise kind of sound. If they were on we had to keep the windows closed. You probably wouldn't notice this if your rooom was on the front side of the building or at the other end. The rear windows of the room backed up to trees, which was a plus. The room was HUGE with a king size bed. The bed was alright for this grade of hotel - not plush, not uncomfortable. We didn't eat the breakfast, but it looked like the standard cereal, fruit, coffee, juice offerings. Besides the outside noise, the only other real negative is that this hotel probably had smoking rooms in the past. I'm pretty sensitive to recognizing the smell and even though the room had been updated with carpet, tile, wallcoverings, paint, etc, the smell never really goes away from the walls and cabinetry. I imagine before the renovation it probably was pretty grungy, like some other reviewers mentioned. The location was alright - less than 10 minutes away from the airport and a few minutes from downtown Burlington. Oh, and it's really close to the Magic Hat Brewing Company which we thoroughly enjoyed! No complaints for the price.

Thank you for your review. Our hotel is a 100% smoke free hotel and has been since 2007. I am sorry that you experienced a smoke like smell. This is a young building and we do keep our carpet current and clean.
