We stayed at the fairfield inn for 1 night before flying out of burlington. Check inn was fast, but very unfriendly and the "girl" looked not very professional. The Room was small, dingy and not overly clean. Check out was a little better, unfortunately the shuttle driver had a terrible additude (ignoring us and being rude) We live in Vermont and it is rather unusual for people being rude and unfriendly. We will not stay in that Hotel again, there are plenty of other options close to the airport

We stayed here for one night while on vacation. We were able to check in 2 hours before the regular check-in time of 3 PM. The front desk was very well staffed with 2 attendants.
The beds were incredibly comfortable and lush. The sheets were soft and clean. The room itself was very clean.
My husband and I were amazed that even though the hotel was full we were able to get a good night's sleep. We didn't have any issues with people talking on the other side of us or teens roaming the halls laughing and talking until all hours of the night.

Sadly, the pool here is outdoor and due to the fact that it'd been raining for the last 3 days it was cold. We had to leave for the airport before the continental breakfast was served so I can't say if that was any good. Also, there is a free shuttle but we didn't need to use that either.

We would absolutely stay here again if we ever get back to Burlington.

“I had a horrific incident!”

I decided to stay here because it was near where a friend was during a trip there for my 10 year class reunion. I checked in shortly after 3pm & was told not all the rooms were clean. They asked if it mattered if I had 2 double beds or 1 king. I told them that either was fine, I just needed to get ready for my reunion since I had to be downtown for a specific time. I went to my room which was not clean but at the time I didn't care because I was in a rush to get ready for my reunion. I left the room (luckily packed all my stuff back into my bag, because I was going to ask housekeeping to clean my room while I was out). I saw 1 of the housekeepers out in the hallway & she said it wouldn't be a problem & that they'd get the room clean. When I returned several hours later around midnight I went up to my room & my key card didn't work. I went down to the front desk & the girl fixed my card (said it might not work because it was near my cell phone). I went back upstairs to my room where the lights were on & the room looked like a horrific mess. Also there was a guy passed out on the bed - he didn't wake up & I'm not sure he realized somebody came into the room. I went back downstairs & informed the front desk of what had just happened. They looked in the computer & realized that housekeeping had moved me to another room & moved my luggage to it. I proceeded to go upstairs to the room that housekeeping moved my stuff to. I went to the room opened the door & turned on the lights only to find out that people were also staying in this room. I got yelled at by the woman who woke up when I entered the room. I went back to the front desk & told the girl working what had just happened. She looked as horrified as I did at what had just occured. Also the people I woke up called the front desk & came downstairs. While they were staying in this room my luggage was in their room. Before the front desk gave me another room they made sure that the room that they were putting me in was not occupied before I went up to it. I felt bad for the girl at the front desk because I know it was completely her fault - I feel it was more of how things are run at this hotel than anything else. The girl at the front desk wrote me a note apologizing for everything that happened that night & thanked me for being understanding. The next morning I went down to the front desk & spoke with the manager who had been informed of the incident & apologized for the incident, she gave me a statement saying that they had comped my room. I WOULD ADVISE & REMIND EVERYONE WHEN STAYING IN A HOTEL TO ALWAYS USE THE ADDITIONAL LOCKS ON THE DOORS - this will prevent people from walking into your room when front desk keys are given to people. Do not rely that your door is locked because your door is closed. ANYONE can get access to your room with electronic hotel keys - this is why you should use the additional slide locks on the door. Part of this incident could have been avoided if people would have used those locks - that and if somebody's luggage is in a room you check into maybe you should inform somebody at the front desk of it, because you might be staying in a room already assigned to somebody.

“Never Again!”

Fairfield Inn Burlington Williston

1 Jul 2007

I've stayed at many other Marriott's and this one doesn't compare at all. The staff driver's is insane...he practically crashed into me in the parking lot and blamed me too! The room lacked quite a bit. No sofa chair to sit, no mini frig, no suitcase holder , etc...The room also smelled moldy due to the air conditioner leaking water on the carpet floor.

There are many great other choices in the area.

Never ever again

The Fairfield Inn was everything I expected for the price: a basic hotel room which was very clean and contemporary. We just needed overnight accommodations, so perhaps our expectations weren't as high as they might otherwise have been. Plus, we'd checked other lodging options in the area (including other Marriott properties -- a Townplace Suites, Courtyard, and Residence Inn) and the next cheapest option was $70 per night more than the Fairfield Inn.

Our real only complaint was the paper-thin walls. The hotel was booked to capacity on the night we stayed and so we were lucky to have considerate neighbors on every side, but still! We could hear every word of their conversations even though they were spoken in a normal tone of voice. It made me wonder what they could hear of ours.

Our only other minor complaint was the size of the breakfast room. I suppose the fact that the hotel was completely booked was unusual, but it still seemed like poor planning. And there are always those inconsiderate folks who have a table, have finished eating, but still want to finish reading their newspaper, while hoards stand around them with full breakfast plates in hand and nowhere to sit.
