I spent a little over 3 weeks here while awaiting for new apartment renovations. I am a double leg amputee and the first night I stayed in one handicapped room. The next day Miss Gia moved me to another handicapped room, she said she had thought about me that night after she left and felt I'd be better in the other room. Had the cleaning staff move my things to the new room. Just the fact she thought about my comfort even after she went home impressed me. Caring.
The cleaning staff, Meena and Manu The Friendly, were so helpful and friendly it was almost unbelieveable. They bent over backwards to see to my special needs. No request was to large for this dynamic duo. Two of the sweetest and kindest people I've met.
Miss Narinda at the front desk was a delight, very friendly also made every effort to see to any requests I may have had. I enjoyed the many talks her and I shared, she was filling in for an absent employee and when she left I missed her.
Mr. Jay the missing employee, #1 in my book. I would be out in the lobby and would witness his interaction with the other guests. Very professonal, knew his stuff, Never made an excuse if a mistake was made by another employee or the computer. His customer service skills would out shine those in 4 star hotels. He also bent over backwards to see not only to my special needs but those of the other guests. Always spoke in a dignified voice, never rude let customer finish their thoughts, not try to over talk them. When taking call on cell phone, you never heard his conversation if sitting in the lobby. Respectful and well mannered , not rude and loud.
I love this staff! Never did I hear any complaints about their job, wages, hours, what tasks they may have to do (like fix a toilet) or how terrible their boss is.
Does it seem like I'm a big fan of this hotel? Yes I am, You spend over 3 weeks around people you get to know the type of people. These are people who care about your comfort while you stay at this motel. Customer service and comfort is number on their list. They know their regulars by name and have things ready for them upon thier arrival.
The hotel is clean and fresh smelling, breakfast area neat and clean, rooms clean and well stocked with coffee maker, fridge, bathroom good size, room good size. Their handicapped room well furnished with plenty room for wheelchairs. Big flat screen TV's, internet, fax, printer, meeting room etc.
No it's not big and fancy, and yes it has no elevator.
What Super 8 in Bedford Virginia does have , is the most Caring and Friendly staff I've seen in my travels. To me I didn't miss fancy and big at all. I had comfortabilty. Isn't that what you want most when your away from home and can't sleep in your own bed?
Back side has beautiful view of mountains
