I found this Hampton to be above average. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful throughout my stay. The room was clean and well decorated. The only negative I experienced is this hotel is "hidden" from the main road and is easy to drive past. The hotel is located in the main shopping district for Charlottesville but not within walking distance of UVA. I would recommend this hotel to others.

The checkin was the start of a very nice stay. The staff was friendly, helpful and promt and were quick to offer directions. There was a call from the manager to make sure all was to our liking shortly after checkin, a touch that can make the difference. The room was clean and adequate size, we stayed one night in a king bed which had a small sofa that worked out well. The bathroom was a tad small but not so that it was uncomfortable, it to was clean. There are some restaurants within walking distance, we walked over to a Chilli's, by all means stay away from there, it was dirty, the wait staff was pleasant enough but the place including the rest rooms were filthy.

We normally enjoy the Hampton and this one was no exception, would recommend it

I stayed in this Hampton Inn for two nights in the middle of March. The room was surprisingly large and the bathroom was rather nice (if not a little small). The shower was pretty big though, especially compared to the size of the bathroom. I didn't blacklight the room or anything, but there was absolutely nothing I would call less than "very clean." The amenities in the bathroom were more than the bare minimum and were replenished fully.

Breakfast was good, though the dining area was quite small (most tables were in use and they were VERY close together). The staff was a mixed bag. I didn't deal with them much, but when I checked in and had a key problem they gave me attitude. But at breakfast one morning, a staff member was very friendly with some people eating at another table (without being pushy or intrusive) which seemed to be more typical.

One minor thing (that I don't really care about) was that the TV was really, really loud when you turn it on (even if it was quiet when you turned it off) and a lot of the sides of the picture got cut off.

The other problem, that I did care about, was the air conditioning/heating unit. It was LOUD. I almost NEVER have trouble sleeping but this kept me from getting a good night's sleep either of my night's there. With that said it would have been easy to turn off but for whatever reason I didn't do it until very late in my stay. But if the weather was anything other than temperate turning it off might have been a problem. Not sure if this loudness was in all rooms or just my room but it was a huge boon. I'm assuming that is easily resolved, though (either by turning it off or switching rooms) so I can't ding the hotel as a whole too much for that.

“Wonderful stay!”

I stayed in the Hampton Inn for one night, and was impressed with the extreme cleanliness of the facility, and the friendly staff.
The lobby and grounds are neat, and the parking is adequate for the rooms; I had no difficulty obtaining a good space, in a full lot. The room smelled and looked clean as soon as I opened the door. The decor was attractive, modern, and the floor plan was convenient. The King bed in our room was by far the most comfortable hotel bed on which I have ever slept, with soft linens and abundant, comfortable pillows. The free, continental breakfast was simple, fresh fruit, coffee, and pastry, but served my needs well. I would highly recommend this hotel!

We recently stayed at this hotel for 1 night over the weekend. It was nice as decribed by many others on here. I do not dare stay anywhere unless I check the tripadvisor reviews first.

The bed was comfortable- Just as comfortable as other very expensive hotels that I have stayed at before. There was a nice sitting area in the King room. The hotel was quiet. I did not hear any noise from other guests. It was clean and the staff was friendly.

I stay at Hampton Inns often if I want to stay somewhere for a bargain price as I can usually expect a comfortable bed and clean room.

The breakfast wasnt that great but its included anyway. It was what I expected. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The hotel didnt disappoint. It was not a far drove to the historic downtown and was located on a shopping strip where there were a few chain restaraunts nearby (Chilis, Red Lobster etc.) I do suggest driving into town to sample some of the outstanding restaraunts around Charlottesville. Would stay here again...great value.
