This B&B is in an excellent location. It is right on the edge of the UVA campus and is a short five-block walk or trolley ride to the historic downtown/pedestrian mall. It is a 10-15 minute drive from Monticello.
The owners are very friendly and accommodating. They were very helpful with tips on where to eat, what to see, etc. Every morning you are served a full breakfast (ie crepes, waffles, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, and the like). Each afternoon they provide wine, cheese, fruit, and cookies. The rooms all have DVD players and there is a large selection of DVD's that you can borrow. We had to check out early our last day, and they packed us a breakfast to go.
The Dinsmore house was built in the 1800's and has a neat history and character. The rooms are well decorated and comfortable. We stayed in the Madison room. The room had a king size bed with a comfortable mattress and two easy chairs.
If there is one drawback, and it is a minor one, it is that the bathrooms seem ready for a remodel. However, with the energy and effort that the owners have put into this place, I'm sure it will happen soon.
