My husband and I have stayed at B & Bs all over the country. The Foxfield Inn is the best we have stayed at thus far.

MaryPat and John go out of their way to make their guests feel at home. This was evident from the moment we set foot in their inn. The design of their inn allows for a separate guest wing, apart from the rest of the house. In this wing, the hosts designed a small service kitchen for the guests, complete with fridge, microwave, sink, snacks and springs water. Oh, and MaryPat's special cookies are always available.

Coffee is in this area first thing in the morning, and we enjoyed having it in the privacy of our room, in front of our fireplace while looking out at the goldfinches on the feeder outside our window. The mornings we stayed there were actually cold, otherwise we would've had coffee outside with the birds and flowers.

This inn is IMMACULATE. The furnishings and fixtures are top-notch, but not stuffy and pretentious. John takes excellent care of the outdoor spa, and the landscaping is just beautiful. Lots of bird feeders all around, which is exactly the way my own property is.

The breakfast is excellent, too. MaryPat uses very fresh ingredients, and uses lowfat whenever she can without compromising on taste and quality. Her scones (esp. the pecan ones) are the best I've ever had!

We stayed only two short nights. We would've loved to have stayed longer. This is a very special place and we hope to return in the fall.

You won't regret staying here.

Just returned from a Wine Tasting Package at the Foxfield Inn and it was superb! The innkeepers Mary Pat and John were most personable, warm, and down-to-earth- no snobbery here at this Inn yet every detail to a luxurious experience has been attended to and given great thought by the two of them. Mary Pat's breakfasts were extraordinarily good, and I loved that she shared her recipes with us. Also, our dinner certificate at L'Etoile couldn't have been better. We would definitely return to this beautiful location, Napa Valley-equal wineries, and gorgeous inn. Rose & Tom De Poto

We very much enjoyed our stay at this charming B&B. As a UVA alumnus, I always enjoy returning to the Charlottesville area. John and Mary Pat are wonderful hosts and the grounds are beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast prior to setting out on a wonderful wine tasting excursion. There are many vineyards within a short drive of the Inn. We would definitely return.

We chose the Foxfield Inn for a sisters' reunion because of its high rating on Trip Advisor, and we can report that every good thing one reads about the Inn is an understatement. Nothing for the comfort of guests is left to chance. The Inn's location is on a beautiful country road, and John and Mary Pat Hulburt (the innkeepers) have made the most of the country setting with a "tea house" (screened gazebo), hot tub and terrace, and fountain scattered around the grounds for their guests' enjoyment. A birdfeeder right outside our window attracted goldfinches, and we saw a piliated woodpecker fly by one morning. Our room was a spotless charmer, our bathroom was luxurious, and the breakfasts were wonderful. Early morning coffee is available in a quiet corner outside the guest rooms, along with Mary Pat's oatmeal cookies, bottled water, and popcorn. The lovely linens had my sister investigating where she could find them for her own home. John and Mary Pat had well-considered suggestions for local restaurants, and were the perfect hosts in the dining room during the gracious communal breakfast. I asked my sister if she would meet me at the Foxfield again; she said,,"ANYTIME!!"

We recently stayed at the Foxfield Inn while visiting the historic sites in Charlottesville. From the minute you open the front door you are warmly greeted by John and Mary Pat. The common areas of the B&B are spacious and inviting. We stayed in the Hunt Country room and the website photos do not do it justice! The bed was luxurious and comfortable. The fireplace added a cozy ambiance to the room. Our breakfasts were absolutely delicious and you are made to feel pampered and special. We hope to return to the Foxfield Inn with friends in the future.
