We stayed at this hotel from May 21-26, 2006. It is undergoing extensive renovation in the guest rooms (I presume they will charge more when it's finished). The price for Washington was great and the room was quite adequate for our needs. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The only problem we had was with the evening shuttle driver who never showed up on time at the Metro station pickup point. He was anywhere from 10 - 50 minutes late (and is supposed to pick up 5:15, 6:15,7:10 & 8:10). After a hot tiring day of walking around touring, you want to get back to your room to put your feet up and we had to sit on a flower planter at a street corner waiting. There are a couple of cafes near the stop where we could grab a drink or something to eat while waiting, but it was stressful wondering when he would show up. Another passenger kept calling the hotel and was told he had left long before and didn't seem too sympathetic. We could have taken a cab, but why should we pay when there is a "free" shuttle? On the plus side, the rooms were clean, breakfast was great, free newspapers and internet in the lobby.
