“Love the garden”

The manager collect us at the pier, otherwise it is difficult to find (the same for everywhere in the old quarter in fact). But once you offload your luggage it is fun to explore and get lost in the quarter (somehow you will manage to get back to the hotel eventually) ! The room is comfortable with TV that can receive BBC World so that we can keep an eye on whats going on in the world or beyond. We stayed in the second floor and with a good view of the sea but I don't know whether the 1st floor have similar view. It seems that nearly all rooms have sea view and with a small balcony, but 1 or 2 may not be (not sure on this point). Overall great value and we like the garden very much !

Stayed at Hotel Anixis for 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. As it turned out, we were glad we chose to stay in the old town of Hora (Naxos) rather than on the beach - it was charming and had lots of character, walking distance to restaurants, shops, the port and transportation. Since we had a rental car, it was easy enough to drive to the beach (and all over the island) which is an ideal way of getting around anyway. There's a parking lot just a 5 minute walk away from the hotel - we parked our car there.

The rooms were clean and basic, the service was brisk and accommodating. When we arrived, we were picked up from the port and delivered to within a short walk of the hotel (impossible to drive right to the door).

Breakfast was simple - nothing fancy - but there was lovely Greek yogurt and honey and the coffee wasn't horrible. My only complaint is that the mattresses are hard foam pads - not comfortable. But if you're tired enough you can sleep on anything. The view from our little balcony was lovely - over the old town to the sea - and there was always a nice breeze. The garden is beautiful.

We stayed at Anixis for two nights in may. The owner picked us up from the port (we had notified our time of arrival via e-mail) and took us to the hotel where he gave us some information on Naxos and Naxos town. All in all, the service was extremely friendly.

Our room was very nice, with a balcony. The bathroom was clean. One minus is that we could hear noise from upstairs and from the reception. Breakfast was ok, and you can enjoy it on the balcony. The hotel was very attractive - it had a lot of flowers outside by the entrance. Anixis is situated in the charming old town of Naxos, there are no cars or other noisy vehicles driving under your window. Also, it is only about 5 minutes walk down to the port and bus station.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone, it is excellent value. We would stay there again if we ever go back to Naxos.

“Just okay at the Anixis”

My husband and I stayed at the Anixis for 3 nights in April. Besides having a convenient location, there was nothing about this place to encourage a recommendation. Our room was a good size but I never had the feeling it was clean. Especially because of the smelly blankets on the bed and the fact that our toilet leaked (so you'd track muddy footprints all over the room, your pant legs would get wet when you used the toilet, etc. Yuck) The shower was also disappointing as you couldn't take a shower without the curtain sticking to you and/or soaking the entire bathroom. There was also a lack of hot water. We chose this hotel based on TA reviews so I'm not sure why there was such a discrepancy with our experience. We have stayed in budget hotels all over the world but this was not up to standard.
