I arrived in mid June 2008 and immediatley was made to feel right at home with a welcome nip of the local liqueur Citron. The family that own this hotel went out of their way to make guests feel comfortable and were always quick to assist in anyway possible. The location was great, with a fantastic sea view. I am very pleased to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Going back there two years after our first stay felt like arriving home. Nicoletta and her family were just as welcoming as before (loved the complimentary kitron drink on arrival). Being met off the ferry is a bonus. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts were fabulous. It's a short walk from town, either along the street or via the short cut.

This is a hotel owned and run by a Greek family that cares about their guests...I highly recommend it and I will return soon. For the money we paid this is the best hotel on the island. The rooms were clean, the cleaning ladies were very nice and polite, the owners were always available to help and give us directions...they will tell you what to visit on the island and which restaurants are the best...don't hesitate to ask anything you need, you'll be surprised how nice they are...The hotel is nicely situated with beautiful views of the Aegean and only 7 minutes walk to the bus or downtown. You have to rent a car since the island is so beautiful...The breakfast is ok, nothing special, but for 78 Euros (and with this service and those beautiful views) I will not complain...
I want to thank everybody at the Hotel Grotta for their help and hospitality...we will be back!!!!

A wonderful hotel, with great views of the sea from the breakfast room. The room I stayed in was comfortable, clean and quiet. The breakfast was gorgeous. The staff were really helpful never made you feel like you were any bother. When I asked them to organise a taxi to the airport they insisted on driving me there themselves and wouldn't accept any payment. The location was great, only a few minutes walk from the seafront and the shopping area. I'd definitely stay there again.

I stayed at the Hotel Grotta with my niece and mother for 5 nights. The hotel is lovely, and is walking distance from the port and main town but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. What makes the difference is the wonderful warmth and hospitality of the Lianos family that run the hotel - it made it such a pleasure to be there! Naxos is a wonderful island with beautiful beaches and wonderful places to explore. Highly recommended.
