The room itself at Hotel Grotta was nothing to write home about - no drawers for unpacking, the doors stuck a bit, bathroom a tad small. It was very pleasantly furnished. However, I could have slept on a bed of nails and would still rate this hotel very highly because the service was great. We were welcomed off the ferry with the other guests, given drinks, and a little bit of discussion/advice about visiting Naxos. The restaurant recommendations given to us were wonderful, and Nicolette (I think that is her name) happily mapped out a driving tour of Naxos with us. The warm hospitality at Hotel Grotta is part of the reason we really loved Naxos, and seemed to make the other hotel guests friendlier too. I would highly recommend this hotel, I can't imagine staying anywhere else if/when we go back to Naxos.

The genuine hospitality provided by the Lianos family make it one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The facility itself is impeccable and the location provides a gorgeous sunset view.
It is a short walk from the hotel into Hora and about 10 minutes to St. George's Beach.
You will not go wrong staying at the Hotel Grotta.

We have travelled extensively around the world and use trip advisor to find family run hotels that provide good service at reasonable prices. Hotel Grotta is the Best value hotel I have ever stayed at bar none!
Their rates are extremely generous considering all the extras you get included for no extra charge, like a great breakfast each morning including mamas freshly baked home made cakes, free use of Wi Fi laptops and free pickup and return to the ferry. I don't know how they do it. Not to mention the friendly service and great accommodation with views that stay with you forever.
Hotel Grotta is a family run enterprise where everyone treats you like you are one of the family while you are there. Naxos is a delightful Greek Island that retains its character and charm and has shunned multi national development. Good on you Naxians! If you want to experience great Greek hospitality at a fraction of the cost of Mykonos or Santorini then stay at hotel Grotta. You'll enjoy yourself for sure not to mention the complimentary Kitron ( Naxian liquor) on arrival, I did!.

I can't say enough nice things about this hotel but I know most people just want the summary - so here you go:
- free ride from the ferry
- free wi-fi and laptops to loan out (this is HUGE)
- very friendly staff full of great tips
- cute pool
- clean rooms
- AMAZING view
- close to shops and restaurants
- excellent breakfast
- truly family run
- great restaurant recommendations
Overall it was a very pleasurable stay. We had some scheduling issues and they were incredibly fair and accommodating. We felt like we were part of the family.
