The Ikaros is located just away from the beach. However the roadway leading to and from the hotel is fronted by a public trash dump that was not cleaned while my fiance and I were there at the end of May. It was an absolute eye sore. Also, there is small abandoned hotel directly across from the Ikaros that also adds to the misery of the aesthetics. Our room was not cleaned every day and when it was a very shoddy job was done. The bathroom was tiny and the sink leaked throughout our stay. A dog that was tied to a two foot chain located on property across from the hotel barked incessently all night. This was without question the worst hotel of our Greek vacation. As a matter of fact it did not compare to the others. I would not stay at the Ikaros again. I would pay a little more for the Naxos Beach 1 or 2.

We stayed two weeks at the Ikaros, and it was a very friendly place to stay. Our hosts were most helpful, rooms were large, spacious and spotlessly clean. The complex is small, but in a very quiet position with a nice pool area and beautiful gardens. Could not fault anything about it and would return to these studios without hesitation. They are situated just off the main road and the beach is accessible by a small road across from the Ikaros which takes you to the beach about 5 mins stroll. Walking to Court Square about 10 mins and harbour front a further 5 mins. The apartments are away from the action, but everything is very accessible. There is a couple of supermarkets and a bakers within a couple minutes walk of the apartments for a ll your neccessities.

Had a wonderful stay at these apartments this Summer - can't think of anything negative to say - all was lovely. The people were kind and charming and yet not overpoweringly so. They did all they could to make or stay a pleasant one. It's unbelievably pretty and very clean. We'd love to visit again

We have just returned from our 3rd visit to Naxos – the previous two visits we stayed at the Galaxy Hotel. However despite the good beach position of the Galaxy it is basically apartments with hotel prices. We read the reviews about the Ikaros Studios and decided they sounded very good.
The apartments are situated about a 5 minute walk from a large supermarket, open air cinema and bakery. 10 minutes walk takes you to the beach and approximately 20 minutes walk to the harbour front. For us (in our late 50s) – this was ideal and we enjoyed all the different route variations. Ikaros is situated about 50 metres from the road and therefore there is very little traffic noise.
The apartments are cleaned every day and linen and towels changed every 3 days. The rooms have optional air conditioning and safe deposit box.
The garden area is kept spotlessly clean and the owners are continually removing any flower heads and debris from the pool. The gardens around the pool are very pretty and the flowers smelt wonderful in September.
The apartments are basic – pretty much the norm for Greece – but quite roomy. The balcony is marble (nice touch) with a heavier table than usual. The lighting in the bedroom was exceptional – I am usually unable to see what I’m doing in Greece but was pleasantly surprised. The only thing that was annoying was the lack of hot water in the mornings and evenings. We have found this to be a problem in Greece with apartments but not hotels. All the brochures will tell you that Greeks use solar heating and therefore not to expect hot water all the time. What they don’t tell you is that they have back-up heating to top up – which was apparent on the days the sun didn’t shine, as those were the only days we had hot water! I can’t comment on what the owners would have done as we didn’t bother to complain.
The apartments are family owned and they all seem very pleasant – especially the lady. She even opened reception early on the day of departure so that everyone could hand in their keys and say goodbye.
I would definitely recommend these apartments.
