The hotel is situated on a hilltop and they capitalize on the gorgeous views that position affords. I think the hotel decor was nice as well - but I can't say that I paid it much attention since I was constantly admiring the panorama. The pools, the spa, the restaurant... all have great views.
The service was impeccable - and very thoughtful. We asked for a dinner recommendation in Lacco (the village at the bottom of the hill) and headed out on the shuttle. We walked into the town square and was drawn to one of the restaurants. It was the one they recommended. We went in to see if we could get a table with a view of the square... now, coincidentally, there was a festival going on in the town. So it was packed on a WED night in May. They started to tell us we needed a reservation, when the manager came out and identified us by name. Turns out the hotel had called - without us having to ask them... The restaurant gave us a lovely table and we had a great meal. We walked back up to the hotel. It was a tad steep near the top, but very doable - especially after a large Italian meal. :)
The rest of the staff was great as well - all very friendly and quick to assist. The spa services were good and the facilities were much nicer than all others I have seen in the Campania region. The pools were wonderful. No icky chlorine here - sea water and geothermic waters in all. Swimming in the sea water pool with a view of the mountains and the sea was fabulously refreshing. The natural steam-cave was cute - but not hot enough. The indoor Turkish Bath and Sauna in the spa/fitness center were plenty hot though.
Breakfast buffet was more than ample - once again with a view - much more variety than most Campania hotels. Poolside snacks were great as well. We didn't eat lunch or dinner in the restaurant.
The junior suite was smaller than it looked on their webpage, but lovely nonetheless. The decor was nautically themed - e.g., port hole shaped mirrors and "lockers" for closets. A double bed in the upstairs loft and a day bed with trundle downstairs. A nice sized terrace with grass, chairs and a table provided a heavenly view of the sunset. It was a perfect place to enjoy some Prosecco and read or chat. The air was filled with the scent of the Jasmine bushes that separated the terraces. There were two bathrooms - one on each level.
