We stayed at the hotel Alicia for the first time for 2 weeks from 23rd june this year. First impressions as you enter the hotel is how clean fresh and bright it looks, all white and pale blue. The receptionists are all very nice and helpful and spoke english which was nice. The rooms were a good size we were on the top floor over looking the sea it was great, they were cleaned every day, I do agree with a previous review that the air con. in the rooms is not very effective and is noisy. All the stairs, corridors and bedrooms were carpeted so no noise from scraping chairs or shoes. The dining room was bright and modern and we did not have a problem with the food at all ,we used to go down for our meal about 7.30 it was always hot and we didn't have to queue to get in at all. The al a carte meal was very good served in a beautiful dining room over looking the sea. The bar area was very large and nicely furnished and the bar staff were very friendly and remebered what drinks you had. The pool area ,and pool were cleaned daily and there were plenty of sun beds. The evening entertainment acts that came in were brilliant, Elvis, Abba, Graham Powell (v. good) and Dylan Cassidy (rods son also v. good) and le divo tribute. Now my moan and this is the only thing that let the hotel down very badly were the two hotel entertainers who in my opinion were very unprofessional, uninterested in the guests and lazy, 3 nights they forgot to put the stage lights on for the acts, most evenings the mike didn't work , in the daytime they just shouted out if anyone wanted to play the games and when some guests did join in they hadn't got a clue what was going on and was more interested in talking to each other, one afternoon they even went to sleep on the stage, they just didn't seem to have a clue!
This hotel is only a 3* and we thought it was great I would recommened it to anyone and we hope to return next year.
