“Disappointed”

Es Moli Hotel

This was our second stay at Es Moli but we were disappointed this time and won't be returning in a hurry. The rooms and decor seemed tired and our room was not very clean . The location was breathtaking and the views stunning but Es Moli had lost some of its sheen.
True, you can't fault the breakfast, but the evening meals were of very average quality and some dishes were absolutely bizarre. The waiters, although friendly and quite efficient, didn't really know enough about the dishes on the menu and were rarely able to explain the dishes in any detail.
The pool and surroundings were wonderful - they served a good lunch and the waiters here knew about the dishes , unlike the restaurant staff in the evening.
I think the error we made was staying for 14 nights . It was too long.
Es Moli is perfect for 4-7 nights, but the standards are not high enough for a longer stay.

“Nice hotel but make sure you hire a car”

We stayed at Es Moli for five days in early October 2007. We had visited Majorca several times before but had never stayed "in the mountains". We hired a car before we flew and the pick-up was very smooth. Here's a tip: get an automatic if you can, the narrow mouintain roads are tricky enough in left hand drive without having to change gear with the wrong hand as well.
Es Moli is a beautiful hotel; we stayed in the Annex for the first night (fantastic views over the bay but a bit of a climb from the main hotel if you are not particularly fit). The rooms are OK, a bit tatty in parts, and some don't have TV. If you really need a TV they will bring you one (as happened to us). Food very good and restaurant service very friendly. The big boss man ate there every night just to make sure things were being done properly - very impressive.
The place is very remote, but you should know that before you book. The village of Deia is closest but there's not much else unless you have a car, we visited Alcudia, Valledemosa, Andtrax etc. There is a "sister" restaurant next door but it feels a bit unnatural i.e. when we went one night every other diner we recognised as being from Es Moli (it's the same company).
One thing staggered me: for 300 Euros per night or thereabouts I would have expected free internet access. The reception guy wanted me to pay!! I made such a fuss that he relented and let me on. I only wanted to check my email for Gawd's sake! I hope they mend their ways on this one. It was the only real problem.
Will I go again? Definitely. It couldn't be more different from the usual beach-based fare, and I never realised the uplands of Majorca were so beautiful.

We coincidentally found this paradise and send a request about prices and availability. The offer was reasonable, and it should turn out to be a bargain! Ordering the double room with balcony, we were upgraded to a large suite with a breathtaking view to the mountains and over the village of Deíà. Arriving in the dark, the beauty of the surroundings was revealed when taking the curtains aside the next morning.

Quietness, the wonderful gardens and the large swimming pool were the perfect frame for our five-day getaway, only topped by the impeccable and always attentive service of all staff, whether it was reception, restaurant or roomservice.

The spectacle of the sun rising from behind the mountains, painting the Deíà valley in gold and attended from the breakfast terrace was the perfect start ino our days and made the sumptuous breakfast even more enjoyable.

Having floor-to-ceiling windows allowing to open the front of the restaurant completely, also dinner was made more pleasant with the last warm breezes of the season (by the way: the food quality was not to criticize, and the service old fashioned - in the best sense!)

Easy access by car to all the beautiful sights in the mountains, the location could not have been more perfect.

Overall, the facilities are surely not the newest, but extraordinarily well maintained and they definitely make you feel at home - a point in which many hotels in these days fail.

My girlfriend and I extremely enjoyed the stay at Es Molí, and we are looking forward to a return. If the hotel had not so badly deserved the praise, it should be a well-kept secret for all those who cherish the true virtue of service and disapprove today's competition in being "hip".

“Lovely hotel, food disappointing”

Es Moli Hotel

17 Oct 2007

Stayed at the Es Moli for 5 nights in October. Booked half-board as it was the same price as B&B. Our room was in the annex. Lots of steps (as expected), but no balcony which a shame. Room was very clean and spacious, with nice touches such as complimentary sparkly wine and fruit. The pool area was lovely, with stunning views. Staff very attentive and helpful. The only disappointment was the quality of the food at dinner. The meals were served at the table, but often cold, and vegetables undercooked at times. Expected better really, compared with other hotels we've stayed at. We ate in the village one night at Xilini. Tapas there was great and a lovely atmosphere. Other restuarants in Deia were quite pricey.

“Very Relaxing”

Es Moli Hotel

16 Oct 2007

Just got back from a 4 night stay, got a good deal on Thomson as halfboard and found the hotel and the village very relaxing indeed.
We had a room in the annexe and though a lovely room, there are several flights of stairs to get there so if mobility is an issue for any of your party the annexe may not be the best place.
Breakfast was lovely, a huge choice, hot & cold and wonderfully fresh.
The staff are very friendly and the food was very good, some people don;t like to go half board and I am usually one of them but on this occasion for just the 4 nights I was pleased we did.
The village is very pretty indeed, as we were half board we ate in our hotel, though there were also plenty of eateries to choose form. There is alovely bar called Patricia's bar that is great for a lazy afternoon drink!
