The location is great. Almost on top of the mountain near the church.
The hotel looks beautiful and in place with dark green shutters and some kind of yellow painted bricks. Next door a very small supermarket for drinks (wich you can put in the fridge in your room) and ice creams and five minutes walk downhill to the main street and bus stop. Stayed here three nights in September and had fantastic weather.
The swimming pool, with view towards the Tramutana Mountains is one you will never forget.
This is a big plus for this small hotel. My room was nr.6 on the second floor. No balcony or terrace, but double doors with shutters. Seaview, mountainview it was all there. I paid eur92 (single traveler) per night incl. breakfast. Buffet breakfast was very good and almost half the table was filled with fresh fruit. Plates with big slices of local cheese and jamon.
There is a breakfast room inside and a big terrace (with that view!!) outside.
As others already mentioned...do not expect staff walking around or staff chatting with customers about whatever. The staff I met in the hotel were not spanish and, although very friendly, not with outgoing personalities.
You have to be an independent traveler here. Its not a small family run place either.
There is a Manager but you will not often see him around.
From the airport you can take a taxi to Deia (around 40km) but do expect to pay around eur45.
You can also take the local Airport bus Line 1 to Plaza Espanya (busstation) in Palma (eur2,00). The busstop can be found opposite the Parking area outside the Arrival hall.
Plaza Espanya is the first stop after passing the Pink building on the right side when in Palma.
When you get out here you walk to the glass covered building and go down with stairs or elevator. You will first pass the train station and when you continue walking you will find the underground busstation. The bus to Deia does not go frequently!! So do check when making a daytrip there. Bus 210 direction Valdemossa-Deia cost eur2,70 and will take almost an hour.
Its worth the trip because the scenery along the way is breathtaking.
I will return to Deia and also to Hotel des Puig.
