It may look on photos like there is a great selection of food but there really isn't. It's not our first all inclusive and I would no way call us fussy as we like our cheap and cheerful holidays. However, the food was very, very repetitive and even though there was 'show-cooking' a lot of the meals were clearly ready meals. The pork smelled like farts, which was ridiculously revolting. None of it was particularly nice to the point where in the end, I only ate crossiants and plain pasta because not only did it taste horrid, it smelled gone off and was clearly re-used; for instance you would have ready made pizza at lunch and it would be there the next day. The rice was uncooked, the fry ups were gross and the beans were made of kidney beans with horrible fake tomato sauce. You can't take food out of the restaurant and you can't eat in a restuarant that isn't your hotel's, if you do take out food it's a 6 euro charge for each piece. The Chihuahua waitresses are very rude and tut you for silly reasons such as not being finished yet. However, they have nice fresh fruits.
The location is not great especially if you are looking for a good nightlife. Fortunately, we were not and so we spent our days at the nearby beaches and the cove which were both lovely except if you are disabled there's no way you can get to the cove as there are 1000's! of stairs which seemed very silly. We did not go to aqualand or marineland as these were both expensive and an hour+ car ride away. We did try out the mini golf on the strip that was 3.95 each, this was okay as there were turkeys and goats there, however it did not last a long time: around 30 minutes even though we tried to make it last longer.
Entertainment: The daytime entertainment was very good as my partner likes to play a lot of sporting activities and so the pistol and rifle shooting and the foot-tennis and waterpolo were particularly fun for him. I enjoyed the aqua-gym and aqua-aerobics in the mornings and the entertainers are very nice people. The night-time entertainment was pretty poor, although I'm sure some people will enjoy it, it is definately for families/children.
The people who tend to holiday with you:
They stare at everyone all the time, at breakfast or lunch or dinner or just anytime really, they stare at you!!! Even when you glance at them so they naturally look away they still stare like you have 2 heads or something. You can see people scoping around everyone like robots staring at everyone, it's very unnerving. If you're introverted, this is a serious problem! Furthermore, there were a group of rude, loud Essex people who thought they owned the resort and put cigarettes out on people's lilos and were cliff jumping and terrorising sporting activities calling others who played. This became a serious issue for families and elderly people who discussed their anger towards them and it became that bad that one middle aged man hit one of the Essex members in their private parts during a sporting activity, from what I gathered, this kind of people i.e chavs are not uncommon at this resort unfortunately. I heard several families, mainly the males complain about the amount of people at the resort, as the resort was extremely busy especially around the main pool, however, we found a nice secluded area to stay around the gaming pool. Additionally, to put it simply, if you're not up before 7 you will not get a lounger around the main pool and even if you do, you'll be laid side by side next to someone you don't know in a broken lounger as they're of poor quality.
When we first arrived, we had to wait over an hour for our rooms to be ready even though we arrived at 13'00 o'clock. The bedroom's are mediocre, there is no TV for twin rooms. The bedding gave both me and my boyfriend (neither of us are allergic to anything), full body rashes that itched and spread and were revolting, we eventually slept on top of the covers and the rash went away therefore, some kind of bacteria or bed bugs are present at the hotel. This pretty much ruined our first week there due to not being able to sleep because of the severe itching. We genuinely hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. Also, as the resort was built in the 70's when the toilet's above you flush, it will come to your toilet and to put it bluntly you can smell and hear what they've flushed. However, the view from our room was very beautiful as we could see the sea. I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT WE DO NOT BLAME THE MAID'S FOR THE RASH, THEY DID A GOOD JOB, IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT THAT THEY ARE NOT ALLOCATED ADEQUATE TIME TO CHANGE THE BED SHEETS THEREFORE, WE TIPPED THEM DESPITE OUR RASHES.
The main pool was deep: 3.5M. The sport pool was shaded for much of the day. It was cleaned regularly but was still a bit gunky. It's also poisonous after 8pm and before 8am we saw a drunken couple get into the pool at around 10pm and one swallowed some water and coughed violently for a long time, she was then held up by her boyfriend and we never saw them after that but I'm not entirely sure if she did in fact have to go to the hospital, although likely.
The bar man:
The bar man in Mastines who is bald and has a tash is rude! We tried to make his job easier as there's a 2 drink maximum per person so as we both wanted the same drinks we asked him together for 4 drinks he then shouted at my partner about this and then from then on we ordered them seperately instead of together and he would say spanish mumbles under his breathe which were clearly impolite phrases. He also, corrects your English and wants you to ask for drinks in Spanish, this may seem acceptable to you, but I am an English person and I will speak English to someone who I know is also capable of speaking it and understanding it.
To sum up:
We will certainly not being going back.
