The Lobos Bahia is a good three star apartment complex. You can select to go all inclusive or self catering. We chose the self catering option. We did not dine at the hotel or use the bars in the evening so we couldn’t comment on that aspect of the hotel. It was however noticeable that it was very family oriented with entertainment around the main pool and child friendly entertainment in the complexes lounge bar area in the evening.

The complex is well located on the main road through the resort (the Avenida Ntra Sra del Carmen) up near the Water Park but and is only 10 minutes walk to the old town. There is a new complex being built on the northern boundary of the complex that may cause some noise during the day so better avoid apartments on this side (backing onto Calle Gran Canaria).

The main point of interest with this complex is they have two large pools (one very large) and a separate child pool. The larger pool is next to a bar / café area that comes with family entertainment (games, exercises and music). The smaller of the two main pools is a quiet area that seemed to attract the older visitor.

Our one bed apartment was quite large and always kept very clean. Some of the furnishings, especially the kitchen units were starting to look a bit tired but they were serviceable. The kitchen was fitted out with a decent amount of equipment including a 2 ring hob, refrigerator, kettle and a toaster.

The lounge area had a sofa bed that converted into two single beds but was very uncomfortable to sit on. There is a 14 inch pay TV with a selection of satellite channels that will cost you 4 euros per day. There are no free channels.

The bedroom was equipped with two single beds pushed together. The bedroom was not very large but had enough wardrobe space. There is a safe in the wardrobe that will cost 2 Euros a day to rent the key for. This is an essential addition as I was not impressed with security at the complex. The main entrance to the complex is open to the main road with no gate or security. The patio door on my apartment had a very insecure catch that would take no more than a few seconds to get past. There are two security guards that wander around the complex 24 hrs a day but I just felt money would be better spent on a gate and some new patio door locks.

The bathroom had a shower over the bath. This was starting to look a little dated but again was serviceable. There was a modernistic sink unit that owed more to style than functionality (see photo) as the sink was very shallow.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. My wife had a birthday whilst we were there and reception delivered a card and bottle of Champagne (Cava) without any prompting from me. I though this was a nice touch.

Overall even though there are some issues the complex is well located, offers good service and good value for money. I would recommend it.

Excellent complex. very clean and pretty. apartments are huge but could do with a bit more storage space. pools are huge and clean with heating in the smaller pool and the kids pool.largest pool is a bit cold in winter. kids play area and kids club very good. lots of entertainment if you want it. ideal situation very peacefull area at top end of high street within 15 minutes walk to the end of town passing several bars, restaurants , supermarkets etc on the way. small clean beaches with shallow clear water. a short taxi or bus ride away from the beautiful sand dunes that go for miles. water park was shut but looks like having a lot of work done to make it bigger. loads for kids to do.
10 min walk to market which is worth a visit.
good day out was oasis park and lanzarote day trip.also calete de fusse for the day , chipmunks were so tame here we stayed for hours sitting feeding them they come and take nuts from your hand. i would highly recommend this hotel and resort for a family holiday in winter.i flet it it could get busy in the summer months.

“Fabulous Fuerteventura!”

Just back from a fantastic week in beautiful Fuerteventura and planning to go back again as soon as we can!

Lobos Bahia provided a good base to relax and to tour the island. It is family friendly, very clean and with ultra-helpful and pleasant staff.

The apartment overlooked the main pool and was kept clean by the daily maid service. There was a fridge, two hob rings, toaster and kettle. We didn't use the pay per view tv as we'd been pre-warned so we brought a mini dvd player and a radio. Having a week away from tv, etc was part of the relaxation deal! If you want to see tv whilst in corralejo, there are plenty of bars with sky tv - who wants to sit inside though, when there's so much on offer!

The shower had plentiful warm water and was certainly powerful enough. Be mindful of conserving natural resources and don't overuse though!

5 minutes stroll away is the beach/centre of Corralejo - plenty of restaurants/takeaways. We used the pizza takeaway over the road from the hotel, however there is a great onsite supermarket which is well stocked and a netto 5 mins down the road.

Corralejo itself has a pleasant beach with lovely little bars (go into the winning post - great coffee and toast, helpful English staff who can sort car hire, etc for you). We took the bus (just round the corner from the hotel) to the Grandes Playas - probably an hour's walk, but only 5 mins on the bus at E1 each. These are amazing beaches, miles long, clear crystal sea and not too many people. We taxied back, only E5 to the hotel.

The best beach, however, had to be El Cotillo. Again, you can get the bus there from just round the corner to the hotel, however we hired a car from the nice English guys at the racing post bar and drove. It took 20 mins to get to the most amazing, wild, deserted beach I've been to in a long time - I'll try to get some pictures up! Take food and drink if you're going here as there is noone to buy from on the beach. That day the surf was wild, but the children played in the waves which lapped the beach. Back in the centre of El Cotillo are a couple of fantastic restaurants which serve beautifully prepared fresh food. The sunsets there are spectacular.

If the beach is not your thing, there are plenty of things to do at the Lobos Bahia, the children enjoyed the discos, became addicted to snooker and loved the pools - you get used to the fact that they're not heated! I found that working through the cocktail menu at the bar was a new cultural experience!

Don't forget a high factor suncream - I took factor 40 and still went quite pink. There were mosquitos there, but we had no problems, one lady was bitten and her eye swelled right up. The staff are very prompt and attentive and will spray the room for you if you are concerned.

A beautiful place - there is a lot of development on the island which I hope will not spoil the peace we found there.

my husband and i have just returned after 1 weeks stay at lobos bahia. we booked online through first choice. we had 2days rain,3days hot sun and 2days were cloudy but overall really enjoyed our stay. we stayed in block j which was lovely. apartment was very basic but really clean. cleaners are excellent and thorough. bedroom, bathroom and living quarters were really nice, the kitchen area was tiny and very basic. ants arrive at the drop of a crumb! we soon sorted them out though with some antspray. the security guards are always walking about in the evenings which made you at ease. pools were lovely but unbearably cold. we booked 2excursions, one was a full day at lanzarote which was lovely, the other was a half day sailing trip which was nice especially as we saw the dolphins although they tell me that this is very rare. the staff at reception are very polite and helpful. the resort itself is lovely, plenty of restaurants. beware of the people on the streets giving you timeshare scratchcards, they are very annoying and in your face! dont be fooled!!!!! go a walk up to the sand dunes, they are stunning. we saw quite a few jellyfish washed up on the sand from the sea near the dunes so be careful. we had a really nice time despite the rain.

This was a terrible holiday site. While the apartments are clean and it has a magnificent pool, the whole place has no soul. It has one bar that closes at 10.00 pm while the second bar houses the most awful entertainment I have ever experienced. Children participating in karoake up to 12.00pm (as if adult karoake was not bad enough!) The house wine in the bar was the worst I have ever tasted. All they seem to be interested in was getting your money - you even have to pay to access the TV in your room, even the basic stations! At the pool, you are expected to chill out while listening to very loud thrash pop all day with no let up.
