We stayed for a week at this lovely hotel. My partner and our 7 year old had a lovely relaxing week on half board basis. The quality and value are the best I have experienced and the service from all members of the hotel staff was top class. The food was exceptional as the choice could not be beaten and the supply appeared limitless. The rooms were large and spotless and the views just spot on. The guests at the hotel are primarily German and Italian and to be fair the average age is in the more 'mature' age range, but for us this was great as there was no noise, everyone polite and it all added to our relaxation at the Riu.
The Thomson brochure was accurate and the hotel is approx 4km from Corralejo, but this in my opinion isn't a bad thing as I didn't rate Corralejo that highly (Caletta Da Fuste is much nicer) and the surrounding beaches are fantastic.
I would say car hire is essential if you want to get out and about as the busses can get a little cramped and a trip to the south of the island is worth the effort. The supermarket/bar nearby the hotel is ok, not the best stocked in the world niether was the food we had for lunch one day, but at night it provided for an alternative to the hotel entertainment.
The only comment (ever so slightly negative) about this hotel was the cost of drinks, but to be fair with the strong Euro this makes a hell of a difference (half board is a good option at the moment as eating our can be pricey). To be in touch with my 'British side' a happy hour would have been perfect (especially for those pre-dinner drinks), but I suppose that is what this hotel tries to avoid.
I wouldn't hesitate going back to this hotel, and rarely do I say that due to the other places to visit, but for a weeks relaxation this was perfect.
Book this hotel for a quiet, erlaxing, pleasant, classy holiday and you will not be disappointed, excellent value for money.

Have just returned from a relaxing week at the Tres Islas.
Fantastic location right on the beach, you can not fault this hotel, rooms are furnished to a high standard with lots of wardrobe space. We had a small electrical problem in our room on the first day, this was fixed within 20 minutes.
The whole hotel is spotlessly clean, even by the pool there are people sweeping up throughout the day.
Food - lots of choice at both breakfast and dinner, always vegetarian options. Eat in the snack bar some lunchtimes where you could get anything from soup, salad or sandwich up to a full meal, again very high standard.
Pool area, very large, never feel that you are sitting on top of someone.
All the staff are very friendly and can not do enough for you.
Would highly receommend the Tres Islas

We stayed at the Riu Palace Tres Islas for a relaxing week in early March. We wanted a hotel on a nice long beach where we could walk for some distance and we were not disappointed. The hotel sits right on the beach with the sister hotel Riu Olivia on the other side.

Our room was very clean and a good size with two armchairs and bathroom which only has a shower, no bath but fine. Our balcony looks directly on to the beach and the sea and we could hear the waves all day and night, it was so calming, It was a little too windy to sit out on the balcony (In March).

We booked half board and found the buffet breakfast in the hotel very good with a wide choice and excellent service, the evening meal was done in two separate sittings we just couldn’t fault the food at all, and such a variety to choose from. We also found all the staff very pleasant and worked darn hard, nothing was too much trouble for them, and just how it should be.

The hotel is alone on the beach and only one supermarket and a bar/restaurant at the end of the road.

The pool area has lots of beds and it wasn’t a case of having to get up early to reserve your bed, there were ample beds and most cases people weren’t arriving at the pool area until after 10am. The Riu hotel supplies beach towels free of charge.

All in all a great place to go to chill out in warm weather in winter and enjoy a relatively quiet break.

If we went back to Fuerteventura we would have no hesitation what so ever staying at the Riu Palace Tres Islas, it certainly lives up to the Riu reputation.

“A lovely week away !”

Just come back !

Travel with husband, and three children ( 16, 14 and 11 )

Hotel is about 40 mins taxi from airport ( roads put ours to shame - no pot holes which is a suprize for Spain ! )

Hotel beautiful and right on a lovely long stretch of beach. One pool was heated slighlty so later in the afternoon is was perfect for swimming, the other "bit" chilly ! Pool area nice and tidy and clean. Never had any trouble findy a sunbed ( although there are alot of our German friends there and they still get up earlier than us !!!!! if you know what I mean ) Pool bar served ice creams, drinks, tea, coffee etc but no food. The Snack bar inside serves until 3.30 but quite limited menu- but the kids always found something.

There is a supermarket about 10 mins walk away for essentials ( outside front of hotel and look over to your left you'll see a restuarant - it's behind that ! ) they sold bread rolls etc if you fancied a picnic on the beach )

Hotel shop sells sweets, sun creams, paper etc but nothing much else ( ie not fresh food /food ) the other shops in hotel are a jewellery shop, shoe shop, clothes shop, and swim wear shop.

Beer about 3.50 euros. Bus to Corralejo was 1.10 euro each/each way. If you stay on until it reaches the marina you are nearer the front, we got off too early ( as everyone else did we thought it was the right spot ) you catch the bus just up by the supermarket - to the left !

We had a walk around Corralejo - ok but nothing wonderful.

Entertainment was aimed very much at the retired market - very low key and more mature music ! not alot for kids to do but as mine were happy digging bloomy great holes on the beach so it didn't bother us.

Food - always plenty at breakfast and dinner ( the sea food looked wonderful - but as I don't eat it couldn't comment ) again always found something to eat.

Staff VERY helpful but not in your face. Rooms spotless.

VERY windy ( as the islands name suggest ) but don't be fooled - you will burn to a crisp - we saw dozens of red sore people.

All in all - a nice break from our gloomy winter - would I go back ?

No - time to try somewhere new I think ! as we have been to Jandia as well. Would I recommend it - YES,

Enjoy :)

Trying to find some sunshine not too far away from England in December isn't easy. We'd never been to the Canary Islands and thought we'd give it a try.

The hotel is lovely and, having driven all over the island during our stay, we definitely think it has the best location of any hotel on Fuerteventura. The beach is just gorgeous and it is a pleasure to walk along the beautiful sand beside the blue and azure sea, or even swim in it (a spot chilly in December, but not too bad). The hotel is excellent: spotlessly clean, well designed and decorated, with friendly and efficient staff. A wonderful place to stay for rest and relaxation.

Our room was beautifully decorated and we had a great balcony (with two chairs) overlooking the sea. I have to say, however, that I do hate the European habit of a "double" room being two single beds pushed together! Having to untangle two separate sets of single bed linen and blankets in order to have a cuddle is annoying.

As mentioned in other reviews, the majority of the guests are older, but, being in my fifties, I found this an advantage as it was calmer and more peaceful without too many children around.

The quality and variety of food is good, but, in my opinion, not up to the standard of Club Med. It was also a shame that the pool bar doesn't serve lunchtime food - you have to eat in the restaurant. It would have been better to have the ability to buy something less substantial. Being able to take your breakfast onto the terrace, rather than inside the large buffet restaurant, is great - but you either have to be punctual or lucky to get a table there.

This hotel is nowhere near the town, which in this case is good because it adds to the beauty of the location, and the town of Corralejo is pretty tacky.

We hired a car from the car hire facility in the hotel foyer and drove around most of the island. It is fascinating, with a kind of barren lunar landscape and some great hillside views - the town of Betancuria was our favourite place and we lunched at a wonderful restaurant called Casa Santa Maria there. Wherever we went, we found the Fuerteventurian people were smiling, friendly and hard-working. The roads everywhere were amazingly good.

Having gone to Fuerteventura in search of some warmer weather in December, the weather was not that wonderful ... the sunshine was warm, but the wind was very strong for at least half the week, making it too cold to swim. It also rained a bit. However, arriving back at Gatwick in a particularly cold and frosty spell just prior to Christmas, we realised it had been great to be able to walk around in t-shirts for a few days.
