Stayed at this complex from 12 to 19 December in 2 studio apartments (two couples). Friends wanted me to contact the complex to ensure we got rooms next to each other and with a balcony and pool view after reading other reviews on this web site. E-mailed the complex and they replied promptly with no promises but saying they would see what they could do for us. We got rooms next to each other but not adjoining balconies which was a wee bit dissappointing but we got our balconies and pool views. Rooms were basic but clean, tidy and fairly well equipped. Friends had problems with unsecure balcony door and this was repaired immediately on being reported. Also very quick response from security one night when we were woken and disturbed by noisy neighbours. Ate in the bar a couple of times and food was good and staff friendly. Not much in the way of entertainment if you don't like watching sport on TV. Entertainment was advertised almost nightly but it never materialised. We questioned this at receiption and were told this had nothing to do with the hotel as the bar was no longer owned by them. Too cold to go in the pool but it looked nice and clean.

I had a great holiday at Playa Park and so will you!
I stayed in room 316 from 6th to 20th December 2007. I booked the room with Travel Republic.
Here are my up-front costs:
Ryanair, Liverpool to Fuerteventura, £63 return
14 nights Bed and Breakfast at Playa Park @ £22 = £308
Transfer from Fuerteventura airport booked online with Resort Hoppa £20
Two weeks car parking at Liverpool Airport £55
Total = £446
I booked a single studio room, but when I arrived the receptionist said they were all full, and he gave me a spacious apartment instead. It was fine. The hot showers were great. Room service was good.
Food…The food at Playa Park was very good, with a reasonably priced buffet breakfast and a good choice of food. Most of the other guests were self-catering. They would come back from the nearby well-stocked supermarket, carrying big bags full of quite expensive food. I do that at home, and it was good to let someone else do the cooking while I was on holiday. I ate at the Playa Park in the evenings and the meals were good, with great service. The waiters were an excellent team, especially Maria the pretty Romanian. She was a real hard worker.
Playa Park was very clean and well maintained. The salt-water pool was a good size and the gardens were very well cared for.
Location…. Playa Park is well located for the beach and for the town. The nearby new Campanario shopping centre is worth a visit. There are great views over the town from the bell-tower. Don’t go up there when the bells are about to start ringing. You’ll be deafened. All the tourist magazines contain vouchers for a free beer at the Campanario café.
Noise…. I asked for a quiet room when I booked, and I got a quiet room, no problem. However, the rooms facing the street Calle Lanzarote are still affected by building work at the new police station across the road. I heard people complaining that the builders had left their radio playing all night, plus grumbles about building noise. I asked how long the work would continue and was told until mid 2008 at least. Also, the rooms above the pool bar can hear the telly football from below. If you want a quiet room do ask for a quiet room when you book, then if there is a problem you can say that you did ask in advance. The hotel management were very helpful.
Bike hire…. Corralejo is a large spread-out town, and a bike makes it much more manageable. Most of the roads have narrow bike lanes on each side. Most of the hotels rent out bikes owned by Corralejo Bikes. The hire bikes on offer at Playa Park were rubbish. I hired a better bike from Auto Martel in nearby Calle Gran Canaria for the two weeks at 36 Euro per week. The manager is a friendly chap and speaks good English. The best hire bikes are from Vulcano Bikes in Calle Acorazado, across Main Street from Corralejo Beach Hotel, run by a friendly young German. Make sure you lock your bike.
Beaches…. Playa Park is about a 10-minute bike ride from the blue flag beach at Corralejo Dunes. Like most of the Fuerteventura beaches away from the hotels, the beach is nudist, but it’s up to you if you want to get your kit off. You don’t have to! There are plenty of stone shelters on the beach to shelter from the wind.
The far end of the beach is spoiled by two very large ugly hotel blocks. They look like something from the 1970s Soviet Union. Corralejo Dunes are an important National Park, and these two blocks are a disgrace.
Trips out….. I visited El Cotillo twice on the bus. El Cotillo is a pleasant fishing village, but rapidly becoming over-developed. There is a large water sports beach to the left of the town, unsafe to swim when I was there; and a nudist beach towards the lighthouse, with good swimming.
I went to Isla de Lobos for a day trip and walked round the island. Well recommended. I’d planned to visit Playa de Carmen in Lanzarote, but the weather turned wet and windy.
Down side….. Not much really. Internet access at Playa Park was expensive at 1 euro for 10 minutes. It’s only 1 euro for an hour in town, or free in some bars. The sauna cost 8 euros for one hour. Why so much? Why no entertainment?
All in all, Playa Park is a good place to stay, and very good value, with excellent friendly service. It’s well located and it is deservedly very popular. I highly recommend it.

After reading some of reviews on this hotel I had mixed ideas about it, I went on 15th Dec - 18 Dec 2007 and booked with Alpharooms as they where the cheapest and offered us an apartment, apartment only costed us £75!

We got hotel from Airport and this costed us €40 each way which is pretty expensive considering we could hire a car for €90 for the whole time!

When we got to hotel we where really suprised, the rooms where lovely we had toaster, microwave, new touch screen cooker, air fan for cooker, new fridge, tv etc there was also 2 beds in bedroom and a double sofa bed in living room. Bathroom was very nice too. Our room overlooked pool, pool was lovely. Hotel also has a pub which serves food all day long. Pub was very quite during the night but played premiership football during the day so we could catch up with all the scores. Guests in hotel where from many different countries i.e. spain, germany, holland and England. Rooms where cleaned everyday and staff where very friendly. There was no building work going on for starters! some building work was goin on during the day but well away from hotel and you couldnt hear anything. Didnt see much of any night time ativities but if you wanted that you could go to town which was a 5 min walk away. All in all hotel was busy but very quite, perfect for a relaxing break and would recomment to anybody of all ages! It was first time I have been to this island and would like to go to again and would book same apartments.

Do not take any notice to some of reviews as I personally couldnt fault a single thing! I go abroad 7 times a year to many different countries so I am used to good hotels and Playa Park is one of them.

Beach is only a couple of mins walk away from hotel.

Cheers
Paddy

“The staff were retarded”

The hotel looked promising when we arrived, i think it was just the buzz of being away at first.
Me and my girlfrieind booked the hotel because we wanted to spend a lot of time ourselvs self contained.
the hotel was advertised everywhere as having a restauraunt. a supermarket a disco at night and activities on nightly,
it was advertised on the net and on signs everywhere round the hotel. it also had a gym/ sauna advertised. (there was no gym).

The room was ok, it was clean and did the job that we expected.
however there was no supermarket, it was a 5 min walk round the corner for the nearest shop, the restaurant was NEVER open.
the only food we could get was from the bar, and that was dodgy cold pizzas with strange jarred sasuage meat on top. it also cost the same price for this crappy pizza as a whole prawn and salad meal on the harbour! there was never any evening entertainment, the bar closed at 10:30 at night. there was also a family living on the dance floor behind a black sheet?????!! that was in the entertainment room, around the freezing cold pool there was a guy banging something on the floor with a hammer for 2 weeks?!???!! dont know what that was about.

i asked on the first day if we could get a room with a balcony, the dodgy tanned german at the desk said" no problem" so i asked every day for the next 2 weeks and he would say " oh sorry, i just let that room out", he could have told me, been as i asked him 14 times!

the place could have been great if it had what it said it did.
if it just advertised room/ pool. then great. but dont advertise stuff you dont have.

oh yeah, the cleaners were well annoying, i would put the do not disturb sign on... she would just walk casually in, having a little mooch. WELL annoying when your on holiday with the Mrs.
no shame on there faces either, they would just stand there while your on the job. freaks. so no, dont stay here. :)

well i found this hotel very clean, the staff were extemely friendly and very accommadating as our children had taken sick over there and they were more than sympathetic, they lent us a fan for the childs temperatures and extra sheets. when we had a technical problem in our apartment they sent someone around as soon as 30 mins. the only problem we had was that the walls were paper thin and i could hear my neighbours as im sure they heard us. it is set in a quiet area so that was a plus when you've got children. overall very clean, very friendly.
