This was our first time in Fuerteventura and we will definately be going back... however... our apartments where very basic with a mixture of good and bad points -

Bad points: It is almost impossible to get a sun bed unless you are willing to get up very early and put your towel down to ensure you actually get one.
Pool bar quite expensive, supermarket is on site and is cheaper.
The complex is crawling with cockroaches at night. Dreaded having to walk through the complex to get to our apartment each night as our apartment was situated at the back of the complex and it was a long walk and also quite dark... so they give you a fright when they run out infront of you... or sometimes into you!

Good points: The maids came every other day and we were never short of clean towels and sheets on our beds.
The food in the bar of the sister complex was nice, never had evening meals there however but the breakfasts and lunches were good.
Large screen in the bar too which kept the men happy watching the football!
Pool was ice cold, though very clean and once u get in u heat up quickly.
The apartments too where situated very close to the town which we found great.

I would recommend going to the flag beach, it was super! Really beautiful beach and a local bus takes u there and back. Nice places to eat include: Tony Romas (the chocolate cookie dessert is a MUST), Fifth Avenue, The Waterside.

this is the 3rd time we have stayed on this complex and the fist time we have been in the Los Alisios side. I am pained to say that we will not be going back to the complex again, think its had it's day which is a shame as the Dunas Side is lovely and have never had any problems when staying there, but as in other reviews we to had cockroaches and couldn't siit out at night as you would get them coming up to you and on my husdands case even on him.
Also get ready to ge up early for a lounger round the pool other wise for get it.
It's a shame as all they need is a bit of money spending on it and it would be ok.

With a lick of paint, a hammer, a screwdriver, some plaster, electrical cable & a new couch or thirty this place would be okay…honestly!!!

The resort has two apartment complexes Los Alisios and Dunas Caleta. Now although both are under the same management or owed by the same company and both stand side by side on the same street, they couldn’t be more opposite if they tried. Dunas has all the bells and whistles, lovely spacious air conditioned well maintained apartments and grounds etc. Its’ sister apartments Los Alisios is the complete opposite, poorly maintained, apartments grounds and facilities……..to give you an idea. Each evening while returning home the family & I regularly enjoyed a game of cockroach stomping….we ended up calling it cockroach ally!! Ok so you get cockroaches on holiday but I was kinda hoping that they’d all be outside the apartment…..fraid not!!!….the first night there I killed 29 cockroaches in our bathroom ( o I’m evil aren’t I??) Ok so after the first day the numbers did decline a little, maybe averaging 10 a night or so after that.

The food on the complex was……..well…….we ate out a lot, nuff said? The positives? The entertainments guy ( Scottish fella from Kinghorn in Fife…forgot his name, either Tom or Gary) was top class and the acts they had on at night were pretty darn good, apart from the karaoke guy, who looked like he was warming the crowd up for a funeral!!

The Los Alisios complex could be so much more if they spent a little money on it, it sits in a pretty darn good location, however, right at the minute that is all it has going for it!!

We have travelled to Corralejo many times, this was our 4th visit but this was by far the worst apartments we have ever stayed in.

The 1st apartment we were given was No 3. . This smelled of sewage, dampness masked by strong bleach.

It had sockets falling off the walls. We immediately asked for another apartment and were gievn No 1. It did not smell at least but every night my husband had to do a cockroach check, there were loads of small ones appearing in the bathroom every night , on the walls, shower curtain, towels etc. Not particularly pleasant.

Now the beds - well if you like lumps, mattresses covered by plastic and only have your sheets changed once a week then this is the place for you.

Food - we went half board and ate there twice ! - that says it all

There is very much a divide in this complex, between Los Alisios and Dunas Caleta which is supposed to be the one complex now. However, even the staff admitted that the Los Alisios is the poor cousin, ie no air conditioning, smaller apartments and very much in need of a makeover.

I will definitely not be going back to this place ever again. The only positive thing I can say is Gary the entertainments manager does a grand job.

Sorry folks but its better to warn you - unless of course you stay in the Dunas Caleta section!
