“A real gem!”

Las Marismas de Corralejo

We just got back from Las Marismas and I can't think of anything negative to say about it.

There were three swimming pools, one fantastic kids pool which was huge and shallow and very safe. It was great as it meant we could relax a bit more and not have to follow our one year old around constantly, and there were loads of other kids to play with as well. Next to the pool was the kids club, which accepts kids from three, but also had a playground which any age could use. The club was great and my four year old loved it. It was well managed and very safe. There was no extra charge for the club either. Every night they had a kids disco which everyone loved. It was brilliantly child friendly. Don't be put off if you don't have kids though, there is plenty for everyone.

Yes the pools were cold, but not so much that you couldn't swim, it just took some getting used to. The bottom pool was never as cold as the top one if this helps!

There was an impressive array of leisure facilities as well, which I wasn't expecting, and it was all part of the price. They had crazy golf, tennis (you could even take lesson from a pro), squash, volleyball, boules, five-aside, I think basketball, and even a gym!

The rooms were lovely. Very spacious with a lovely big bath and a full range of self catering needs including a microwave, hob, fridge, kettle and utensils. Yes, we had two cockroaches, but what do you expect? We were on the ground floor surrounded by a lovely tropical garden. There wasn't airconditioning in our apartment, but to be honest, you don't really need it as the island never really gets too hot thanks to the wind! I don't think I saw a single mosquito inside or out.

We went all-inclusive which was fine. Okay, the food wasn't brilliant, but it was okay. They did a great job catering for so many people. They tried to offer a wide enough selection to keep everyone happy and for a vegetarian, a meat and carbohydrate lover and two fussy kids, we were kept happy. Every night there was at least two types of meat on offer, that was cooked in front of you, plenty pasta and fish, and always chips. The puddings were the typical Spanish covered in cream ensemble, but they always had ice cream. Breakfast was good, freshly cooked eggs always available, plus fruit, breads, cheeses and meats. Lunch was also fine.

There was a shop on site, which was well stocked and had most things you needed. The staff were lovely, everything was clean and well maintained. It was also very safe if travelling with kids as there was only one entrance into and out of the hotel.

The location was great, it wasn't far from the main town and just across the road from the islands only water park which was good for a day out. The entrance fee includes the zoo which has some animals. If you get there just before it opens, you may get a chance to swim with the sealions as a woman usually comes up to ask if anyone wants to do it.

I loved the island and I loved the hotel. I was very apprehensive as it was so cheap, but it was fantastic. I would highly recommend this to everyone. It's a real gem!

I would highly recommend this place. We have stayed in Fuerteventura 5 times before and although we have liked accommodation in previous years, none compare with Las Marismas.

Staff members, from the first encounter to the last, were very friendly and helpful.

It is a really well planned layout with many apartments, three swimming pools (one large one specifically for small children), a bar, restaurant, gym, shop, 24-hour reception, mini-golf and probably much more.

The place is really nicely landscaped and well maintained.
It is only a 10-minute walk to the town centre and minutes from the nearest restaurant and mini-market so very convenient for everything.

We are a couple in our mid-30s so the kids facilities were not important to us however I gathered from the many young families there in March that the provisions for kids of all ages were adequate. There was also a huge amusement park right across the road.

The apartment was quite big with a large balcony. The bathroom was large and clean with bath, shower and sink. The kitchen/dining area was large and the kitchen contained sufficient items to enable self catering. Storage in the bedroom was very sufficient with a large wardrobe and chest of drawers.

We were there for a week during which the apartment was cleaned most days, bar one or two.

For a relaxing location, access to all amenities and great service I would highly recommend staying here.

“Great holiday at Las Marismas”

Las Marismas de Corralejo

My boyfriend and I have just come back from a week at Las Marismas and I have to say all the reviews were very true. The place is clean, staff really friendly and prepared to bend over backwards to help, apartments really nice size, bedrooms are roomy and the bathroom clean.

3 pools (one a kids pool) and one pool is heated. Some reviewers complained it was cold but not sure what they were expecting, pools are normally cold when you first get in perhaps they need to swim a bit more?!?!

We didn't eat at the restaurant so can't comment. One small gripe was the tennis courts. They appeared to be used everyday by a tennis club/coach and the only free slots were in the heat of the day. This was a shame as we bought our rackets to play and then had to go to the Blue Bay each time we wanted to play and pay for an hour (€8).

However, all in all we had a great stay at Las Marismas, this was our third trip to Corralejo, staying in our third hotel and each time we seem to up the ante. We would definitely go back here.

Fantastic hotel, very modern and clean. 2 good sized pools, one heated. We stayed in one bedroomed apartment, very spacious. Huge balcony with doors leading onto it from living area and bedroom. We stayed self catering, although the all inclusive food at lunch looked nice, good selection. Didn't see the evening food or breakfast as we always ate out. Pool bar was a bit pricey but food from there was nice. Reception very helpful and friendly as were all other staff we met.

The hotel is no more than 10 min stroll to the centre of town. Corralejo itself was quite quiet, not a huge amount of bars but enough to keep us occupied. Lots of 'tourist' restaurants selling the same old food. Head into the back streets around old harbour area for better food. It was carnival time whilst we were there, and it was fantastic. Huge parades of hundreds of people in the centre of town on the final evening of the carnival, so glad we were here to see this.

Beaches were fantastic, some really beautiful spots. There's a bus service to and from beach/sand dunes daily, although we hired a car.

Overall the hotel was great, no complaints at all. Although if I stayed again I would request a pool view room, as we were in one of the far corners of the blocks, view wasn't terrible though, as we overlooked the landcaped area made to look like typical countryside. But would have preferred to have been closer to the pool. Would definitely recommend this hotel, and would stay here again if we came back to Corralejo. Of all the other hotels we walked and drove past in the area, Las Marismas looked the nicest.

Just returned from a wonderful, relaxing week. We had a one bedroomed apartment which was very clean and had everything we needed to cater for our 6 month old son and young daughter,ie microwave, kettle, fridge.

We stayed on a half board basis and found the food to be fine considering the price we paid. All in all there was a good selection, and whilst not everything was our taste there was always something good to eat. Sunday morning featured smoked salmon and cava, not bad for the £100 or so we paid for both of us for the week half board, by the way children under 5 eat free. Didn't try the bars much, they seemed a little quiet, although we were back in to put the kids to bed fairly early. Staff were very friendly made us welcome, particularly good with the children.

Everything considered we really enjoyed our stay and would definately return and recommend.
