My wife and I spent two nights here during an 8 night Spanish holiday. We had a good time, however, there were a few things that meant we certainly wouldn't have stayed any longer.
The pool is ok, however given the large number of rooms in the hotel you need to secure one of the 15 or so pool lounge seats very early in the day if you want to use it - having said that, we did on both mornings. Although we have no children, the hotel seemed to supply a staff member who lead a water aerobics class in the morning and then played with the children in the pool. The pool was relatively overrun with children splashing and jumping around which isn't to our tastes but might better suit a family. If you don't get a lounge chair by the pool, fear not. The Calella beach is close and lovely, there is also a couple of spas on the roof with a lot more sun lounges, although both spas upstairs had a lot of floaties in them - not sure if their filters were working.
The service was great, the staff are multilingual and helpful. The breakfast was pretty ordinary. A standard oily fry up with the typical european meats and breads. There was some fruit and cereal. The coffee was aweful.
Our room was comfortable but had no air conditioning. The noise from the street was a significant problem and we had difficulty sleeping with this and the heat. There was a television in the room but the remote control came at extra cost!!! There was a safe in the room but the lock came at extra cost!!!!! I felt this was pretty sneaky way of increasing the room rate. The bathroom was clean and modern.
Essentially we weren't unhappy with the room but we wouldn't return, based on 'child-heavy', Benidorm (as in the TV show) feeling to the pool, the extra charges for the safe lock and television remote, the quality of the breakfast, and the street noise. We would have been far more disappointed with the room had our next hotel not have been much better quality.
ask for a room facing away from the street/pool - perhaps less noise??

First of all we would like to thank you the time it took you to write these comments. As our goal is to keep improving our services, for us is very important the feedback from our customers and so be able to get continuous improvement.
As we want to know the needs and dislikes of our customers, we are doing a continuous, comprehensive monitoring of feedback from you, both in establishment and on-line.
In the Hotel Maritim in Calella and also in the rest of the GHT Hotels, a high rate of customers repeat every year and this fills us with pride, but we are not satisfied and we strive every day, so our guests can get with us a great vacation.
According to your review, we have to say that ALL of our rooms on ALL hotels have air conditioning. The TV has no extra charge, but we ask you for a 10€ diposit, that we will happily return when you give us back the remote. As you correctly said, the locker is for rent and it costs 17,50€ per week or 3,50 per day.
Again, thanks for your kind remarks. Also say that we take note about things are not of your complete satisfaction and look forward to see you soon at Marítim or in any other of our hotels strategically located along the Costa de Barcelona-Maresme and Costa Brava.
