food - me and my friend stayed here for 3 nights and were sick of the food by the end.. everything was fried, usually a different minced fried meat, a type of fish, and fries.. all stone cold and pretty much inedible. we ended up avoiding breakfast (YUCK) and just going there for lunch and tea.. take extra money for snacks from the supermarket! i also found countless flies in the food and drink...
drinks - the bar couldnt be faulted, with lots of different types of alcoholic and soft drinks, as well as freshly brewed coffee.we often asked for 'a nice cocktail' and got given different ones everytime, all very good! almost made up for the food.
staff - NONE of the staff spoke english, it took 5 minutes to explain we wanted to check-in.. and they definitely werent friendly.. the resteraunt staff scowled and shook there heads if anyone got in their path, and muttered to eachother in spanish. the bar staff were polite but again didnt understand much english and relied on a lot of pointing
rooms- the room was very clean, the cleaners came in every day and made the beds, cleaned the bathroom.. but we were told there would be a 'fridge' and 'private balcony' however there was no fridge, and we were on a shared terrace, where rowdy spanish people actually threw things down and shouted at us if we went out on it. by the end we had accumulated apple, grapes, socks, and cigarette ash on our part of the terrace. the door to the terrace was wide open when we arrived so anyone could have entered our room, and when we tried to shut it it was broken.. 2 days later it was 'fixed' so that we could no longer open it.
entertainment - NONE!! the only entertainment in our 3 nights was 10 minutes of bingo one night, very rushed and non-communicative. that was it, no daytime entertainment or evening shows, we didnt stay in the hotel at all in the evenings, we went round the corner to an amazing little english bar called 'the beach boys club' DEFINITELY reccomend if you're in Calella.
people - we were 2 in about 10 english people in the whole hotel, this was a HUGE thing for us because the bulk of the hotel was taken up with german school football teams, hundreds of little boys between 10-17 were staying, and this seemed normal as all the fixtures were up on the wall in the hotel.. not a family holiday hotel, just very drunk young spanish boys and german school children
area - about 5 minutes walk from the beach, and a gorgeous beach it is.. with pedalos and beach bars, we spent most of our time there. theres plenty of shops and supermarkets just outside the hotel door, and you'll need it to buy food! the area is mainly hotels so very noisey at night.. we didnt even attempt to sleep until about 3am as it was sooo noisey in our room!!
conclusion - nice (NOISEY) area, good for young people wanting a clubbing holiday, but dont expect to eat the food, or to get much out of the hotel at all.
