We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute. The house is beautiful with many original features. We were lucky enough to see around the house and each room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The antiques in each room add to the charm but it was the simple things that made the stay even more pleasurable. A warm and friendly welcome, a cup of tea and cake on arrival with the little added extras such as bath foam, hair conditioner and plenty of hot water! Katherine used local, fresh produce and the food was delicious; as good if not better than any restuarant. Katherine's homemade jam and marmalade are a must. Both Katherine and Carl made us welcome and nothing was too much trouble, They also told us about the local area and recommended places to visit. The view from the Gwili room is breathtaking and it was so peaceful and the bed so comfortable that we slept like babies. Go Visit!! You won't be disappointed.

We recently spent 2 nights at Maes-y-Derw during an exploration of the most scenic part of Wales. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. As an eye surgeon, my professional life is built around attention to small details and I was blown away by Carl's and Katherine's meticulous approach to running their enterprise. The guesthouse is beautiful and the hospitality was outstanding. The antique furnishings were fascinating and breakfast was wonderful.

The location is convenient to the eastern and northern coast of Pembrokeshire. The town itself is charming. The Teifi River is a world-class stream for salmon and sea trout. It is just down the hill from the house.

We would give Maes-y-Derw our highest recommendation and would rate it up with some of the Relais & Chateaux stays we have had around the world.
