We had expected this bed and breakfast to be one of the highlights of our recent vacation to Newfoundland. On the telephone Sonia managed to sell us a dinner package - chicken for $20 per person. For an extra $10 she would have substituted steak or lobster. When we arrived the first thing we noticed was the strong sent of cat urine in the hall way. It was late and we felt committed. The house is terribly cluttered and you feel as though you are imposing on this family. Sonia went so far as to kick her son out of his bedroom so she could rent it, telling customers on the phone to give her 20 minutes to get the room ready. It's only saving grace is that the bed was decent. At $85 it was pricey, but acceptable.
For $20 plus tax each, we received a small chicken piece overdone on a bbq with tex-mex bbq sauce, accompanied by caulifour improperly /undercooked in a microwave, with Lipton's sidekicks accompaniment. It was preceded with a salad which had last week's tomatoes and bottled no-name salad dressing. Dessert was a piece of chocolate cake from the local grocery store bargain bin. She has delusions of competence. People who feel ripped off do not make happy customers, and do not write nice reviews. I come from Quebec where a dinner/bed/breakfast is an experience worth raving about. I would avoid this place, and will never return again nor recommend it to anyone. Rather than waiting for Aunt Jemima to get up, we split at 6:00 a.m.
Incidentally, Sonia also entertains for a fee of $30 per person, will babysit, is a self proclaimed clairvoyant and raises kittens.
