My husband and I stayed at the Middleton Inn in Washington, VA recently and cannot help but smile every time we think of it! Mary Ann Kuhn, the proprietor, is as gracious, warm and welcoming as her inn is and that is no small feat. The inn is set on a hill with breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The rooms of the inn are immaculate and beautiful having all the amenities one would want. We slept so soundly on wonderful linens and enjoyed our elegant surroundings before having coffee on the front porch. The grounds are beautiful and the breakfasts are delicious. If you have any dietary concerns the staff happily makes sure all of your requirements are met and if you want a special favorite, it will appear on the table. Upon checking in Mary Ann asked if there was anything in particular we wanted with our morning meal and my husband half joking, half seriously said "lots of bacon!". Well the next morning, along with our omelets, we had a perfectly cooked mountain of bacon brought to our table!
We look forward to our next of many visits back to the Middleton Inn and highly recommend it!

My husband and I very much enjoyed our weekend at the Inn - what a relaxing time! Breakfast was wonderful and unique each day and we loved taking coffee on the front porch before breakfast with the paper and view of the mountains. From afternoon lemonade with a book on the back porch and a cat in the lap to wine and cheese before dinner on the town - we could not have been more relaxed! Our sincere thanks for your wonderful hospitality.

“Great Place to Stay”

The Inn is a quiet, beautifully restored property and Mary Ann Kuhn is a gracious inn keeper. She and her small staff serve a wonderful breakfast in the large sunny dining room. The rooms are immaculate and the large shower in each roomis a great amenity. Porches front and back over good views and a great place to relax. My husband and I rarely stay anywhere other than hotels, but our experience at the Middleton Inn was so enjoyable I am sure we will try inns more frequently in the future.

“Superlative Service”

For my wife's birthday, I booked us a weekend at this wonderful place. I have arranged with Ms. Mary Ann Kuhn, the proprietor of the inn, to have a dozen roses ready for my wife when we arrived with a personalized note that I sent beforehand via e-mail. I also requested a masseuse and champagne for the next day as well as booking us to two of the area's best restaurants. I passed by a few weeks before the date to check out for myself how the accomodations are and if my wife would like it.

All these preparations went off without a hitch and much to my wife's delight! The service was great - we specially loved the breakfasts! The food is exquisite. We stayed in the cottage and I highly recommend it! The jacuzzi alone was worth it. The bathrobes, linens and sheets are all first rate and luxurious. We enjoyed lounging and having the champagne on the spacious lawn as well as playing with Hannah (the dog) and the several cats that roam the grounds.

This was all a surprise for the wife and she enjoyed every minute of it. If not for the dinner reservations we had - she said she wouldn't leave the place! I think she's planning a return for my birthday in the fall..we'll find out!

This is a very well run B&B. It is really the little touches that seperate this from the run of the mill B&B. Complimentary bottled water in the room, which gets replenished at turn down. A clean and updated bathroom. Bathrobes, iron, cd player, hairdryer and starched high thread count linens. Other nice touches were the wine and cheese served in the living room at 5:00pm, which is a nice way to start off the night before heading off to the first seating at the "Inn." At night they leave a bottle of port out in the living room for your enjoyment.

Breakfast is nice as well. Homemade bisuits and scones are served on fine china and silver.
