We got a special $100 American Express coupon to try out a Marriott so we decided to use it when visiting Williamburg (the other Marriott hotel doesn't accept the coupon).

The location of this hotel was perfect. The beds were so comfortable and we arrived early and they checked us in with no problems. It took 5 minutes to get to the park, 15 and we were in there, the location was wonderful. The only thing better than the location was the beds. They were very comfortable and clean.

Only complaint would be the bathroom fan (was none). The bath and body works soaps were great! If you get a room for less than $140, you're definitely getting a deal. (We used the coupon so it turned out to be about $100). The pool and the video arcade was a plus for our 10 year old.

We had an enjoyable experience.

I read the negative reviews about this hotel, but I decided to try it anyway. Well..it costs me $368 (2 night stay) to prove that I was too stubborn to believe those reviews.

The staff team was awesome, friendly, and very helpful. The hotel room, swimming pool, and the hotel buildings, on the other hand, [--]. It was old, under-maintenance, and rubbish. I came back to the hotel at 10 p.m., I could open the side door to enter the building without using the hotel key card. It is just scary of what might have happened if a criminal had gone into the building. The room was old with some new bedding and bathroom countertop. The laundry room was dirty. The swimming pool was old. I won't blame the staff. I blame the management. The hotel location is close to the Busch Garden, quiet with nice landscape. It is calling for the Marriott management to approve on the major remodeling and maintaining. I will not go back to stay here again.

My family and I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Williamsburg Marriott. We had a wonderful experience. We went to Virginia on our summer vacation to Busch Gardens. I was a little nervous about what to expect at this hotel because of some of the negative reviews on this website.

We arrived at about 2:30pm on July 17th and they checked us right in with no wait. We had the government room rate of $82.00 a night. That was definitely a plus and saved us a lot of money. As we headed to our room I was concerned that the room might not meet my expectations. I've stayed in many yucky hotel rooms of well known hotels so I was hoping the room would be clean and neat. As we went in the room I immediately was relieved. The room was clean, neat and had a balcony which was an added plus that I didn't realize that we were going to get. It made our vacation so much better with that balcony. It was nice sitting out there after a long day at Busch Gardens and Water Country. My only complaint in the room was that the bathroom didn't have a vented fan so when you took a shower it fogged up in there.

The staff was friendly and courteous. The pool was nice. We had lunch at the pool on our first day there and the waiter was so nice and friendly. Everyone in the Harvest Grille was very friendly also. They had a breakfast buffet every morning for $11.00 for adults and $6.95 for children which I thought was great being as the regular menu prices vere quite pricey which it not unusual for a hotel.

All in all our stay at the Williamsburg Marriott was wonderful. I really have no complaints except the bathroom vent problem.

Oh and the beds were so comfortable. I would defintely recommend this hotel. I can't speak for the rest of the rooms in the hotel because I haven't seen them but our room was nice.

On the morning of check-out we did the tv check out. All you do is press the menu button on the remote control and follow what it tells you and you don't even have to go to the front desk to check out. It was a nice feature.

Stayed here with 2 kids. The beds are incredible, just really comfortable. The room was clean and very quiet. From the outside it doesn't look like a nice hotel, but inside is very nice. The breakfast buffett was good, but you had to pay like $12.. They brought up a fridge into the room after we arrived which was good. Hi-speed internet is free.

I've stayed a many hotels, Marriott and otherwise... this hotel is barely in the Okay standing.

First off, our rooms were not ready at 2pm... it happens... we were prechecked and came back later. The staff was pleasant, though the bellhops just stand there... I usually take my luggage anyway, but they didn't even make an effort, unusual.

I had a friend staying in another room and they were basically the same. My bathroom's toilet looked like Bigfoot had dropped one in it... maybe roto-rooter was over zealous in the last cleaning, but the toilets had deep scratches and brown stains on the bottom... disgusting. There's no fan in the bathroom, so it's sauna time if you take a hot shower. The maids didn't replace the conditioner or mouth wash on two of the three nights.

The room itself is pleasent, a little aged, but nice. The bathrooms are the real let down for the rooms. Becareful with the door locks, I had read another person having door problems and made sure to doubly check mine, but for both rooms we had to slam the doors open and closed most of the time. Annoying... The locking mechanism needs to be replaced. The bathrooms need an overhaul.

The beds are the only thing that is Marriott standard. Very comfortable and cuddly. If all you are hoping for is a great nights sleep, then this is the place.

The pool and jacuzzi are disgusting. You might as well swim in the toilet... it smells funny and not in a chlorine good way. If you do go in... don' t put your head in and definately take an hour shower afterwards. Their whole pool area needs to be renovated.

The breakfast came with our room and was very filling. I loved the little waffles with whipped cream and strawberries. Excellent breakfast and service in morning.

The Pitcher's bar is a great place to hang out. The pool tables are smaller sized and the two tables are a bit cramped ~ try to grab the single table up stairs instead of the two up stairs. They have a busy staff, but they are friendly. Don't order anything, too, particular. The Martini's I ordered sucked, so we switched to beer and Long Island Iced Teas. They don't offer any happy hour or reduced prices for guests. The bar is moderate to expensive for it's food and drinks. Good views of everything going on in the hotel ~ pool, hall to conventions, etc.

There were a couple groups for conventions that made the place entertaining. They have an excellent set up for large group parties.

Parking is adequate and location to Busch Gardens, Water World USA, Jamestown, Yorktown, Colonial WIlliamsburg are all close ~ but so are 80% of all the other hotels in the area. Everything is basically 10 miles from everything else. We stayed in off season, so maybe the near exclusive location is more cherished in busy season.

Overall, if I was on any kind of a budget then I wouldn't stay here. The only really stand out for this hotel is the beds. Everything else is was WAY below standard for what I would expect of a higher end Marriott. I don't understand how this hotel would even be considered a three star with so many let downs.

One word: Renovation~~!
