I accompanied my husband to the Crowne Plaza where he was attending a conference at the hotel and we stayed on a couple of days after the conference. I really liked the location as it was close to Colonial Williamsburg and just a short drive to the shopping and restaurants on Richmond Road, but far enough away from the crowds and traffic.
The staff at the reception desk was very helpful and friendly and we received the welcoming cookies. The rooms were nice and clean, and the bedding comfortable. As stated in earlier reviews, the bathroom was really small, but no problem as there is a separate sink with a nice sized vanity just outside the bathroom. They supplied a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and nice, large magnifying/makeup mirror. The room had a small refrigerator, mini coffee service, and free wifi which worked well. Our room's balcony overlooked a lovely garden and the outdoor pool. Per previous reviews we asked for a "quiet" room. Parking was plentiful and we always got a good spot.
The only downside to staying at the Crowne was that there is no free breakfast (we're used to the Hampton Inn). My husband had the breakfast buffet one morning and he enjoyed it but I think it was about $12. I only had coffee and it was $2. Williamsburg has so many pancake and breakfast restaurants I think it would be more competitive to price the buffet a little less.
All in all, a good stay at a good hotel.
Ask for a quiet room.
