We, too, stayed here four nights for dog shows, but since it was our national specialty we got a special rate of $60/night! The room was large and clean but terribly dark. The maid was extremely accommodating considering how may schnauzers she had to contend with! The continental breakfast was better than most--included hard-boiled eggs and cook-your-own waffles. We were on the first floor on the wing near the pool which was very convenient with a dog. We did not notice any interstate noise.

I was in the area for dog shows. I had reservations at the nearby Red Roof, but I was trying to check in at noon, they wouldn't accommodate me until 3, and I had two hot and panting dogs in the car. So I ended up here.
Although the rate was $15 more than I would have paid at the Red Roof, I got a non-smoking room on the ground floor. It was pretty nice and comfortable, and the hotel even had a nice pool. The continental breakfast was better than one normally finds at budget hotels.
While the air conditioner was effective at keeping the room cool, it seemed to add humidity to the room. At a minimum, the dehumidifyer was broken. The bedding was dank, and my bags and clothing became damp and smelly overnight. This needs attention by the hotel.
Upon checking out, the desk clerk wondered why more dog show people did not stay at this hotel this year. Answer: this hotel's rates (with pet fee) were $15-20 above the rates at the other dog-friendly hotels in town. In a pinch, I was willing to pay a little more to check in at noon, but otherwise I would not have considered this hotel to be a very good value.
NOTE: Why doesn't tripadvisor ask about the breakfasts at some of these hotels? Many advertise continental breakfasts that really don't merit the term.

We don't normally stay at Travelodge, as many of them are awfully dingy, but because every hotel in Winchester was full the night we arrived, we decided to take the Travelodge because it was all that was left. It turned out to be a surprise highlight of our trip because of the lovely, large, very clean, newish pool that they have. We were traveling with our two small boys (ages 7 & 9), and they had a wonderful evening with the pool all to themselves. This more than made up for the somewhat dark and dated decor in the motel and the mediocre continental breakfast in a very crowded breakfast area. As for the room, we rented two adjoining rooms, and this worked out very well. The rooms were large, clean, basic, and comfortable, and everything worked fine. All in all, not a luxurious situation by any means, but more than adequate basic lodging with a much nicer (and larger) pool than most of the more upscale motels nearby.

Rooms are shabby and close to the interstate--heard noisy truck traffic all night. I can't recommend this hotel.
