the RI is located adjacent to a Courtyard and a Fairfield (also by Marriott) in east Bellevue. It is geared toward long-stay business travelers.

If you're not familiar with Residence Inn, it's a little like staying in an apartment; you have your own separate outside entrance, patio, etc. There's a very usable kitchenette with both a small table and a bar seating area, a separate seating area for watching TV (with a small sofa), and then the bed on the far side of the room. It's a lot of room for a family traveling on vacation, and is definitely a nice change from the usual small roadside motels. It's about 75% bigger than a standard budget chain room.

The decor is not fancy, but of course clean. Everything in the room (towels, toiletries, sheets) feels pretty mid-range to budget level. No problems at all. By the time we reserved all that was available was a queen bed. It was a little soft, but fine. The AC worked well. Lots of channels on the cable TV. The shower had weak water pressure. There is moderate room noise from upstairs and from the outside 'hallway.'

One drawback - we asked for a crib in the room, and when we arrived at 11 pm the crib was there - but not set up. It took about 10 minutes to do that, which wasn't a big deal, but it would have been nice if it were ready.

The grounds are nice. There's a pool, hot tub, garden, patio, basketball court, and small tennis court. Breakfast is served at the main area and you can sit outside to eat if the weather is nice.

Breakfast is very good. Fresh Belgian waffles, breakfast burritos, eggs, cereal, oatmeal, home style potatoes, fruit, yogurt, muffins, croissants, and bagels.

Friendly staff. Free newspapers.

Good value. I would stay here again.

We've stayed in this hotel many times with good experiences. However our stay in September 2006 was one of the worse experiences I have ever had in a hotel. I travel for business for at least 20+ nights per year and 10+ vacation nights - so get to experience a variety of hotels.

The hotel allowed a private cleaning service to enter our room - unsupervised - and use a large amount of powerful carpet cleaning chemicals to wet clean the carpets in our room. We received no notification that this cleaning was to take place, and never would have ok'd if we did.

When we returned to our room after a busy day of work and vacationing - we found our beds covered in disheveled furniture. Yes, the cleaning crew placed the bedroom furniture on our bed so they could clean the carpet. (see photo's).

The very strong chemical smell from the carpet was overpowering, and the room had only one small window. We notified the management of the hotel, who apologized and asked how they could help. We would have asked to be moved to a different room - but with our belongings unpacked into drawers for a family of 4 including 2 toddlers - this would have further ruined our night. They provided us some fans to vent the smell - but it was so incredibly strong, that it did not fade even by the morning. We did receive a 1 (of 4) night comp of our stay (ie free).

It was obvious by the furniture placed on our bed that the hotel staff was not supervising the non-hotel / private personnel cleaning the rooms and with access to the travelers belongings.

I've stayed at this hotel happily many times - but the hotel's conduct in this situation was totally unacceptable and offensive. To allow private, unsupervised (remember the furniture photo), to enter rooms and use powerful chemicals - was a huge statement of their opinion of their customers.

“Didn't Want to Leave”

Residence Inn Seattle Bellevue

I wanted to write this review since this property doesn't have a recent review posted. We stayed here for 2 weeks while my son attended a computer camp at nearby Digipen. We had a wonderful time and our stay here was great.

This is a typical Marriott Residence Inn with nice bedding and nice rooms. The regular room has a Queen bed and a Queen pullout sofa with a full kitchen. This is perfect for longer stays like we had. The location is wonderful for anyone needing to go to Microsoft, but it only took us 15 minutes by car to get to downtown Seattle and all the tourist destinations. Bus service to anywhere in Seattle is terrific also.

The hotel has a nice pool and several hot tubs scattered throughout the property along with a basketball court. We had a wonderful full breakfast buffet every morning and 4 nights a week we had a light dinner served. Entrees ranged from Chef Salad, Clam Chowder, and Lasagne to Wednesday night BBQ. The hotel provided free shuttle service for my son to come and go to class and provides this service within a 4 mile radius. The laundry was very clean with 3 new washers and dryers that were cheap ($1/wash & $1/dry) to use.

The staff was wonderful and made an extra effort to get to know us and to provide a terrific experience during our stay. Any problems we had that arose were addressed promply.

We loved it. We had our two teens with us, so having a private bedroom was great. The kids slept on the pull down bed in the living room, that was surprisingly comfortable. We had a kitchen too. Everything at this hotel is clean, quiet, and the grounds are lovely.
The best part was the full breakfast every morning and light dinners in the evening. The staff was curteous and helpful.
It is about a 10-15 min. drive into downtown Seattle. Just avoid hitting the road at rush hour or you can double that time.
I would definitely stay at Residence Inn again.
Considering the complimentary breakfasts and dinners, full kitchens, and fresh coffee around the clock, I think you come out ahead. And you DON'T have to pay to park!
