We spent the weekend at the Deer Harbor Inn and enjoyed ourselves very much. No TV in the rooms (hurray ! ! !) and WiFI that was a little spotty, but nice to get away from that too. Almost "unplugged", and I think I'd just as soon have no WIFI at all. There was an internet connection available in the lobby of the building we were in, and Deer Harbor is about getting AWAY from all that, really, isn't it?
Clean, country style room, helpful, unobtrusive staff, the young man who was cleaning/supporting the rooms was friendly and very helpful. Sort of like visiting country cousins.
Check in was easy, check out even easier (throw your key here, travel safe) and that's all there was to it.
It's located very close to the most excellent Deer Harbor Charters, in the Deer Harbor Marina. You can stay at the inn Friday night, go out to see Orcas in the channel on Saturday, and then hang around the inn on Sunday. Win/win/win. We didn't realize that there was a restaurant co-located and we tried it, to be honest, because we were tired and didn't want to drive to Eastsound. SURPRISE ! ! ! An exceptional dining experience. Good wine list, excellent service by the beautiful and mysterious "server #7", and the food was spectacular. They don't put sauce on your pasta, they dress it lovingly in a number of ingredients, and put it before you perfect in taste, texture and appearance. My wife, who hates to travel, and most of all waiting, offered to put up with the ferry ride just to eat there again. I'll review the restaurant too, but if you like; quiet, friendly, clean, comfortable (free croissants), convenient to activities and lots of deer and rabbits, you can't miss.
We stayed in the 8 plex log cabin, they also have small cabins. I don't think you can go wrong.
