We read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Plaza Jalisco is located in what used to be a gas station. Upon entering the restaurant we almost turned around figuring we made a hugh dining mistake. The interior was plain but clean and the service was welcoming.
I am a fan of Mexican food and we eat it locally often. I can tell you this place served some very delicious Mexican food. My wife drank wine which was very good at $3.50 a glass. We had wine not as good the night before in Seattle at $8.00 a glass. I opted for a Cadillac Margarita which I don't often do on the road, however they served up a very very good margarita, 16 oz, double shot with a double shot of Grand Marnier. Try to get that good of tasting drink with those ingredients anywhere else for $8.50. The bar was a non-seating bar only about 6 to 8 feet in length & they were able to serve numerous types of drinks from the bar-they knew their bursiness. I don't know who was in the kitchen but they were also darn good.
We stayed in Forks for 2 nights. Guess where we ate supper the second night . The Plaza Jalisco was just as good the second time.
This place joins our list of simple sounding or simple looking places we have found on the road that serve an outstanding product. It joins a place we discovered in Sweetwater, TX at the top of the list.
