I was pretty satisfied with what the Holiday Inn Express in Wenatchee had to offer.
I walked in and noticed the very fancy looking lobby and felt a little out of place, since I was wearing shorts and sandals. I was greeted with a smile and was treated extremely well by the nice girl running the front desk. She took my name and had my room keycard ready within 10-20 seconds! She asked if there was anything else she could help me with and left me feeling very good about this place.
The room was excellent. Maybe a tiny bit smaller than what I was hoping for, but nothing to too bad. The air conditioning was good and quiet. It was spotless, clean, and nice smelling. The bathroom had good thick towels. The provide higher quality shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, etc.. and I really liked the fact that it had a fridge and microwave. I was a bit weary about the train tracks behind the hotel, but never heard a train throughout the 4 nights I was there. The parking was plentiful, and area seemed safe. I was awakened by the garbage truck one morning, but I am a light sleeper and my room was right in front of the dumpsters. Although I would have liked my room (2 queen beds) to be a bit bigger, I have no complaints about the room itself.
They have a "Gym" which is about the size of a room that has a few things you can work out on. It's a pretty small room, but it definitely did the job. It was kept clean, and I never had to share the room with anyone else while I was there.
The pool was a little smaller than others I've seen at other hotels. It was indoors, which is a plus. I read someone hear complain about the chlorine.. I too noticed the pool had a bit too much chlorine and it irritated my eyes for a few hours after my swim. This was one aspect of the hotel I did not necessarily enjoy as much as I did other things.
They have complimentary breakfast. REAL breakfast, not just a bagel and coffee. And they even serve DINNER! I think maybe only a few times a week, and I never tried it, but I did see a gentleman carrying a bowl of chili up to his room. Smelled good.
It's pretty much impossible for a hotel to be perfect, and this hotel didn't defy logic. It has it's few things that one could complain about, but overall a good, clean, friendly place to stay. The price was just right, and it had everything you'd expect in a Holiday Inn Express (including friendly service). I'd highly recommend this hotel.
