This is a hotel with good value but the rooms could use a good renovation. Apparently they have started the room upgrades but our room all be it clean was a flash back to the 80's. The price inlcudes evening beverages and snacks and a nice hot buffet breakfast. So for a $115 that we paid for a king room, it was the best value we had in our week long driving vacation. The hotel is situated 4 or 5 blocks from the downtown core and is along the Yakima river bank. There is a paved path right out the back doors which goes for 6 miles in one direction and 3 miles in the other, so if you have you running shoes or bikes with you this makes for a nice trip along the river. Just south of town are enough wineries to keep you busy for 2 days. All in all a nice find for a couple nights stay.

“Very Nice Stay”

Every time we go to Yakima we lament the fact there aren't really any hotels that we want to return to again and again. That has changed now that we've found the Oxford Suites.

All rooms face the river and paved walking/biking trail. The top three rooms have small balconies with two chairs and the bottom floor has sliding doors directly out to patios. We were on floor 4 and the view from the patio was very nice. We found it was a great place to enjoy the wine we purchased on our winery tours.

The evening reception, with 2 drinks (beer, wine or soft drinks) each and snacks was a very nice touch. The breakfast in the morning is superb - a full, hot breakfast. We ate out on the terrace that adjoins the breakfast area both mornings and enjoyed the fresh air and view.

The pool and hot tub were nice and the public areas are kept clean and are attractive. I think there was a computer in the lobby for guests to use (we had our laptop, so we didn't use it).

Our favorite thing about this hotel is the walking trail that runs adjacent to the hotel. I"m not sure how far the trails goes, we went an hour each way each morning and didn't run out of trail.

“enjoyable experience”

The Oxford Suites is a great place to stay in Yakima.
The location is near the interstate, and opposite a large shopping plaza which includes Walmart.
The Yakima River runs directly behind the property, and there is a paved trail along the bank for walkers and joggers.

My room was the presidential suite, and included a HUGE jacuzzi type bathtub. I wish I had had time to enjoy it. It had all the usual amenities.

I found all the hotel staff most helpful. I was looking after an overseas group, and needed to go shoppping on their behalf. The hotel van took me over to Walmart - it is within walking distance, but I had to buy too much to carry it all back again.

Later it was necessary to take one of my guests to the hospital ER, and again the van was able to take us there.

The hotel offers complimentary drinks and snacks in the early evening, and complimentary breakfast..

Food service for a function dinner was very good, and the set up for a lecture was just as ordered.

I will not say that you cannot do any better in Yakima - I just do not know all the hotels, but I can, and will, say that you can do an awful lot worse. That I know from my own experience. I will have no hesitation to recommending the Oxford Suites to anyone.

“A good comfortable hotel”

Oxford Suites Yakima

Stayed hear for one night prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. This was our second stay at this hotel. The hotel is located along the Yakima River. In fact all of the rooms face the river. There is a regional trail running past the hotel. The hotel is located just off the interstate. There is Burger King between the hotel and sister property. Across the street are car dealerships and a Wal-Mart. Dowtown Yakima is about 5 minutes drive with several good dining choices. The hotel features standard rooms and larger suites. There is an indoor pool/hot tub/exercise room. An evening snack is provided in a nice room off the lobby. The evening snack on our night was a taco bar. Nothing fancy but decent. There is also a bar located in this room. In the past coupons were provided for two free drinks (pop, wine or beer). This has changed and soft drinks are free but a beer or wine is 50 cents with a limit of four drinks per person. This same room provides a hot breakfast in the morning consisting of scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, cereal, fruit, bread, coffee, juice and pastries. Our room was a suite with refer and microwave. Two doors could be slid closed to create two separate rooms with one room the king beb/bathroom and the other a sofa and desk. Both areas have 25 inch tvs. Internet is wi-fi throughout the hotel. They do have a business center with a printer. There is also small conference rooms and a guest laundry. This hotel is generally more than other hotels in the Yakima Area. However, the amenities and location make it a nice value.

“Need to work on cleaning the ROOMS!!”

Oxford Suites Yakima

5 Aug 2007

Considering this is Yakima and not Seattle this hotel was great on the outside but horrible in the rooms. My husband, 6 year old daughter, 2 month old daughter, and myself stayed in the King Exe Suite on July 19-22.

Oxford Suite had a wonderful breakfast and reception each day, the patio and river view was pleasant and relaxing, the bike/walking trail outside is great for those who want to get some exercise outside of the work out facility, walking distance from Wal Mart, the front desk employees were very helpful in all of our needs.

The downside to our stay was the room itself. Our daughter had to sleep on the couch there was no pull out sofa bed like stated on the description of the Exe King Suites. The comforter on the bed had body fluid that was very visible. The maid service did not take out all of the trash for the 3 days. Maid service only took out the garbage that was in the garbage can not the garbage surrounding it. We had recycle newspapers on top of the garbage but she kept throwing it on the floor instead of taking it with her. The air conditioning did not work and those rooms get very hot. The carpets were really dirty and our feet were completely black. I felt like I could not get clean enough. The rooms were really dirty and this made our stay unpleasant since we had an infant with us..
